Power Steering Fluid - What to look for, when choosing the right fluid for the job

I have read that any transmission fluid should technically not be used in a power steering unit due to friction modifiers designed for a transmission creating additional wear inside of a power steering unit. I think I am going to switch to a full specialty power steering fluid on my Toyota that calls for ATF Dex II/III

Hi Tony, I think "ATF Dex II/III" is exactly the Dexron III specification which the Jag calls for as well. ATF is abbreviation for "automatic transmission fluid".

Hi Nathan, I agree, this is something which we don't have much hands-on videos about. For my vehicle greasing was done at the end of last summer, just before I bought the car. I will probably do it again this coming fall (October-November) and will film it at the time. Cheers!

LV is not a Roman Numeral. I'm pretty sure it means low viscosity.
