Does the engine need to be running while you’re turning the wheel bleeding out your power steering pump?

Hello Earle, the engine should be off while turning the wheel (with front wheels off the ground) to bleed out the power steering system.

Hello there 🤓 The new reservoirs were discontinued and the old reservoirs have a non-serviceable internal filter, unfortunately. Also, the pump assembly with the reservoir from AC Delco has been discontinued (if you can find one still, I would suggest buying it). If not, the powersteering pump with reservoir from approximately the same year and engine Chevy Colorado can be used as a substitute www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=7613548&cc=1432062&pt=7380&jsn=950 With the new setup, you could add an in-line to prevent the issue in the future kzbin.info/www/bejne/e17CpKyFZdyLj5I

Here you are 🤓 Let me know if you have any questions. My biggest suggestion is to cut the low-pressure return hose off the fluid reservoir instead of pulling it off by force because it breaks so easily! kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWq7fJh3jrGVpdE

Great, but how much fluid do I need to buy.

I do not recall how much fluid I used for mine. I imagine a gallon would more than suffice.
