Power Steering Leak Revealed More Problems on the Botched CYM RX-7

If you're new to this series, we got this car back from Angel Motorsports after a court battle that unfortunately used up the rest of the budget for this build, so now, we are rebuilding for our friend and now that we have fixed a lot of the Vargas Brothers' work, we can finally address the power steering system... unfortunately, this revealed even more technical oversights. Just FYI def not weird for there to be unused wiring or connectors on a single turbo converted engine harness, referred to as the emissions harness in the service manual. It looks like they probably deleted all the unused solenoid connectors and all as they should. Probably just left a few and cut a couple wires. Our harness was similar for the 13BRZ. If your OMP is deleted there will also be a couple of unused connectors left over. Not sure what the connectors further forward are though. No excuse for that shoddy wiring tucked under the upper core support either. Open butt connectors and any twist and tape in the engine bay means that wiring will corrode and fail period. Oof.

There is a factory power steering reservoir that can replace that ugly container. One of the wires you showed by the oil filter looked like it connects to the oil pressure sensor. Some of the wires near the radiator might be for the fans. The Rx7 has a dual speed fan set that goes to the relays mounted on the passenger side fender in the engine bay.

Not even halfway through and I saw one connector that I instantly recognized at 7:54. B1-21 Power Steering Pressure Sensor (AKA Switch). It's the one with the yellow insert and 5 spines/keys. Blue/Yellow wire on it? It's an input to the stock N3A1 ECU, Terminal 1N. I'm ~85% sure it's used to calculate Engine Load, and adjust fuel accordingly to compensate for the load from the Pump. Can you send me a few clear/high res pics of the rest? It looks like this is in the Engine harness, but I want to be certain so I can tell you EXACTLY what was monkeyed around with. 8:15, thanks for the shoutout! Angel Motorsports' initials are AM.
