Most of the info here is correct for a 2007 Honda CRV, except the 14mm crowfoot wrench. My 2007 Honda CRV with original high pressure hose takes a 21mm crowfoot wrench to get it off. The replacement high pressure hose requires a 22mm crowfoot wrench. As I had a set from 10-19mm hexagonal flare nut crowfoot wrenches, I thought I was all set to tackle this project tool-wise... The 21 & 22mm crowfoot wrenches are specialties and not easy to find... Had to order them.

My Crows foot wrench wouldn't work, neither did my line wrench. It just stripped the nut. I used a regular size vice grip and clamped it as hard as possible and it broke free 1/10 of a rotation and then my crow wrench took it off the rest of the way

I just did this tonight. What helped me was to lower the exhaust by unhooking the hangers. That gave me room to snake the hard line over to the right side. Patience is key, don't bend the hard line and your reward will be a fitting that threads easily. I got the hose out underneath the car on the passenger side and that's where the new hose went in. The brackets that hold the hard line to the rack support can be removed with a 10MM socket, extensions and maybe a swivel. A stubby 10MM open end box end wrench is handy as well. Thanks for the great video!

Great video. Thank you! Don't be afraid to talk, or think it will bother us. I get the "minimalist" approach with just showing the action, but commentary is very helpful. An example would be to talk about the path that hose takes and how you get the old one out, new one in, etc. Helpful to us for whom this would be a first time deal. thanks again!

Wow. Thanks, this is just what I needed. I just finished. Did mine in the garage and only jacked up the front end. Used a small adjustable head 1/4 ratchet instead of the angled wrench. But this was pretty easy once I had all the right tools. I never had a purpose for a Crows Foot wrench before. LOL.

First, cut the line off from the rack with a cutting wheel just past the fitting... Then use a 🪣 to drain the oil. Then, use a 14mm deep socket on the fitting. It'll come right out. Then cut the line off in three places to get it out after removing the brackets. Undo the wiring loom connector and the return hose connector to gain room on the passenger side bracket. The electrical connector is tough. Install from the bottom up.

+Robert Amaya Thanks for watching!! you don't have to take anything off really if you have a lift or its high enough on jack stands but if your limited on space then i would take off the catalytic converter. I would recommend installing those brackets back because of vibrations and there's movement on the engine (especially if your mounts are bad) and the hose can rub on stuff. Over time it'll create a hole in it. but if you can't then zip tie it(better than nothing lol) just take you time installing and to maneuver/adjust your angles. hopefully this will help

Question. Did you have to remove any other parts of the car to get to the hose underneath or was it simple to get to all the bolts and take out with the tool in this video ??
@RevvedUpKnowledge6 жыл бұрын
To be honest it’s not simple yet not hard. If you do not lower the rear section of the subframe it can be a little tough. Space is very limited but definitely can be done. It definitely is a lot easier if you lower the subframe a little to have more room to disconnect those bolts on the bracket that holds the hose down on the frame
@_Mike_D_5 жыл бұрын
I figured out the easy way to do this. There are 4 m14 bolts you can remove from under the car(rear mount). Then jack up the rear of the engine/trans slightly and the ps hose will come out from the top of the engine. It was very very easy to do this way. I was able to do this with the driver side tire removed, you can see the passage the lines pass though upen up. Only needed jackstands, jack, 12 and 14 mm socket and whatever size the line nut is. I used a 3/4 I think.

@RevvedUpKnowledge9 жыл бұрын
Dave H. you can possibly re-crimp it with the crimping tool. The hose gets dry and shrinks so the original crimp isn't tight enough anymore. If you don't have access to the tool than you would have to take it off the car and bring it to someone with the tool but at that point i would much rather put a new one in it.

It is a little tricky. What I usually do is route the hose to where it needs to be and I start by pushing the hose all the way into the rack and threading it first. That way it gives you wiggle room if you need to move the hose around to line it up straight. Hopefully your threads didn’t get messed up and it works out for you

Going back to Advance Auto to see the NEW replacement (second) hose is different from the first. After that top off the ps fluid and turn on the car. Most of the air should have gone out but if your still seeing bubbles in the reservoir then you probably have a leak in your suction line.

don't really know what its officially called but i call it 10mm wrench with socket end. i don't know any other companies other than Snap-On that make these. best bet to get them is ebay. they're pretty pricey

Hello...My Car is Honda Odyssey 07 some time hard to turn when slow speed or in Parking...I want to replace Steering Rack but that's not easy. So i don't know exactly the Sensor pressure has problem or Steering Rack ???...Can you give me one advice. Thank you very much

+NewsandCheats i would do a flush first and change the orings on the p.s. pressure hose and suction hose first. Works most of the time. If it still does it then the pump is most likely the culprit

Good Job making a mess and getting power steering fluid all over the belt.

+FALLOUT20rads un professional would be let it get all over the belt without a rag there and not clean it up.
@FALLOUT20rads8 жыл бұрын
+Peter “LikesToFixIt” Nguyen a professional would have had the rag wrapped around the pulley and belt making sure that power steering fluid didn't get on it at all, insuring to not cause premature belt failure. 👍🏻

what is the hose that's in the middle of the screen at 2:42? I think it's running into the transmission pan but I could be wrong about that. Also, how similar is this to a 2002 Acura TL? Is the power steering hose setup the same?

That's the shift cable. They are pretty similar. Some cars might have to take off or loosen the rear mount bracket

It was not a useful video at all. When people asked you to tell them the name of the tools you used you failed horribly. The most important tool in this video was the 10mm wrench socket with an angle. You could not give the name of that tool only where you got it from. With out it people will find it hard to use this video.

This video stopped every time they came to the challenging points, we want videos that cover the hard part of the job, not the easy.
