Awesome video. I’m doing the exact same thing, putting one of those same power supplies in a mid-tower 790. I got the computer for free as an upgrade from my old system, the PSU died in my 1st gen Core series system so I couldn’t use my graphics card anymore because the supply I had on hand didn’t have a graphics card connector. Surprisingly that power supply isn’t available on Amazon but they’re so slow now that it doesn’t matter anyways, I got one from Best Buy on the way Update 2/2024: Last September I ended up building a new system with a 5600x and the 2060 that I previously purchased anticipating building a new computer one day

@@someguywithmtndew5691 I wouldn’t. From what I heard, Linus said this PSU isn’t ideal for gaming rigs and are for mainly very low end or office pcs.. And the fact that I recently found this out, I just got in a rmx 2021 850W psu. I been using this 700w PSU for a while and I’m actually afraid that it could have done some damage to my components but I’m not sure.

Case transplant is hard in my opinion because of the proprietary case connections/ connection to buttons etc.

Sounds like a regular atx power supply will work, although outside of the case. I would try to look up optiplex case transfer or Optiplex case transplant. From what I remember the power buttons are tricky

this is just a budget power supply. Pretty good for the price in my opinion, but others seem to have issues with it. It has a 5 years warranty, so I'm not worried about it much, but definitely look at the reviews.

@@whattmeter no I didn’t find any. This model had the 24 pin cables, 2 SATA cables some peripherals, an eight pin and a couple of others. But I did not find the four pin in this one. Your video was not made to long ago so I’m sure they couldn’t have been a switch up or an improvement in the upgrade this fast. My motherboard only has a four pin connection.

Great question. Not 100 percent sure, but This should work.The 2070 super requires both a six pin and 8 pin. Wow! I checked the manual and this power supply has two (6+2) connectors running through one cable. www.nvidia.com/content/geforce-gtx/GEFORCE_RTX_2070_SUPER_User_Guide.pdf

I would still double check though. I've never used a graphics card that required both six pin and eight pin to be connected. The thing is for the Thermaltake 700w, the two (6+2) pins run through one cable, so it might get tricky. For a 2070 super, I would go for a modular power supply for cleaner look. You are wrong. Dell 7020 and 9020 MT i5 and i7's can be turned into gaming PC's. You can upgrade the ram, ssd and put in a gtx 1660 ti.

If I were you I'd return that psu before it fries your pc got the exact same one 4 months ago and have already had to have it replaced 3 times due to piss poor connectors their molding machines suck absolute ass the last one fried my entire system due to a faulty cpu connector so I do not recomend ANY thermaltake smart series psu. The way these psus work is good on paper but in practice the "smart" aspect of em is absolutely stupid they use cheap ass capacitors that will not hold proper voltage to sustain a system would be fine for a business pc but anybody rocking a 700watt psu isnt using it for normal business spreadsheets ect itl be under load which is gonna cause issues later on

it looks like a standard sized atx power supply so it should fit on an optiplex 790 MT
