My question is about emissions. Living in California sucks. But having a 77 f150 w/302 I’m curious how much it will increase or decrease emissions. I have a federal vehicle so no cats or emission equipment needed. Just takes the sniffer test. I think that would be a good series. What mods can you make with out going to far and then can’t smog it
@anthonyrowland9072
@anthonyrowland9072 Жыл бұрын
an intake and carb swap will probably make less pollution due to better fuel distribution in the runners and no fuel puddling like the low rise stocker. a modern cam profile can actually make less too. modern factory grinds are way more aggressive than old muscle car era grinds. you want a mild cam with no overlap. i'd recommend a comp xtreme 4x4 250H but with a set of isky flat tappet hydraulic lifters because comp's lifters aren't made the same way any more and iskys are. some tri-y headers with an xpipe with the same manifold and rockers as here and you'll be set.

@@monibo7075 Fuel Injected Isn’t Finicky At Any Elevation. You Can Put Vehicle In Storage For Months& As Long As Battery Can Crank That Engine Starts Practically Every-Time. Try That With Carbs & You Won’t Start More Times Than Not. Adjusting Carbs All The Time Is Problematic After Sitting. Horsepower Performance Just Order A Guaranteed Crate Motor Putting Out 800-1200 Horsepower For $15,000-$25,000. Thats Reliable. Try Building. Boring. Honing. Balancing. Forged Internal Parts On & On & On To Other Parts That Make Up & Just Get It Tuned For Older Motor & Your Lucky To Get 625 HP Is Ridiculous. However To Each Their Own Because People Can Make A Hot-Rod Out Of Anything. (Car. Truck. Imports) Unless You Have Really Deep Pockets To Get 1,000-1,500 Out Of Older Motors Will Cost You Practically A Whole New Complete Car For $$55,000 & Smoke 💨 The Older Engines. Even NHRA Has Gone High Tech. Nature Of Time & The Beast.
