I have never liked the degas bottle design. It eventually becomes opaque so you can't see the fluid level. Of course they eventually leak and it goes right onto the serpentine belt so the belt slips off, wraps around the crankshaft, and goes into the crankshaft seal so you have a bunch of chewed up serpentine belt in your oil pickup. At least with a conventional reservoir, you can safely mount it remotely on the firewall and then vent the lid to your air intake.

Came across this on a google search. I originally was planning to delete my degas bottle and run just a filler neck in the upper hose. But I want to be legal for sanctioned events so I’m installing another tank. But I’ve already capped off my drivers side heater hose. Do I absolutely need that 5/8’s one, or can I just use the 2 3/8’s lines from the rad and thermostat housing?

If you have a radiator that has a pressurized cap or add one with the filler neck, that tank needed to be legal is just a coolant recovery tank and will not interact with the engine directly, just the cap. You do not want to cap off the heater hose tubes as it is important they flow to each other to properly bypass the heater. Look at our heater bypass kit for a better solution for you what your are planning to do.

Frank. First I want to say hi and thank for the love of Mustang 💪. Questions. I have a 3v 05 gt. I want the gen2 mustang motor in it. I saw the swap in Cristian Saleem on Alex video. I just wanted to know if gen2 mustang motor can be done and what I need. I go in the website but I'm not sure what I need. Thanks

can i delete the degas bottle even if i don't have a radiator with a pressure relieve cap?
@PowerByTheHourPerformance3 жыл бұрын
You could but it would require installing a radiator cap inline on the upper radiator hose at minimum.

So if your not running a heater core can you just loop the 2 ports together?

So spend money on a non ford engineered delete for your cooling system with no point of reference to check coolant level..um smart?!?
@PowerByTheHourPerformance4 жыл бұрын
Joseph, the coolant recovery tanks in most oem cars have fluid level guides. Some aftermarket units also have this as well. Since you would be using an older style of radiator for this product to apply, then you would follow the filling and purging procedure for that radiator. Done properly there is no issue. To see it in action, just watch some of our road racing videos.
