I've been using PowerDirector 15 for about a year now and shoot primarily aerial with a P4. Just upgraded to 16 and this is a never ending learning process. Watch a lot of tutorials and wanted to say I really enjoy the way you present the information. Your pace and clear laid back approach is refreshing and I'm looking forward to learning from all you offer. Thanks, keep it up.

Yeah you can do that. I copy and save all that info into my text editor and then save it as text file. But you can just log in to there web site and get it also. You can also open a support ticket with them.

Thank you so much for this. I have subscribed to your channel and really, all I have been looking for is to be able to do one thing for now. I want to be able to do educational videos, but I want to be able to sit in front of my camera, talk, cut away to maps while my dialog is still going on. Sometimes I might be a video clip of something I am talking about. This is what I want to know how to do at this very moment. In addition, I want to create a simple, consistent into to a my videos and even with an outro and credits. If you can such a video, step by step for a beginner like me, I could greatly appreciate it. Like the News. A guy talking, video cuts away to a map, video footage, still hearing his voice describing what the audience is seeing and then back to him. I have Power Director 16.

Very informative territorial thank you. I enjoy using the action camera tools for doing speed changes and freeze frames but often times the GoPro footage needs to be color corrected and enhanced for lighting. After all the GoPro footage is adjusted for Speed and stability I'm unable to use other tools such as the enhancement correction tools without PowerDirector wanting to undo the changes I made. Any advice are workflows I should be doing differently? Sorry if I'm not explaining this correctly... it seems like the other tools cannot be used after the action camera tool was used if that makes any sense? Thank you in advance for reading this and possibly responding. Al from BBQ Crasher

I would suggest you make thumbnails more consistent. Also thumbnails should have you in them so it identifies your channel. So when you come up on the right side they see you over and over. This will generate more subscribers. Also keep in mind gopros are action cams. Which really should be used for just that. I have a couple gopros and got on that kick too and found myself editing more then I really had too. I now use a canon 80d because of the auto focus and the menu system is so easy. The footage is just so much more clear. Combine that with a gimble and now you have smooth footage. A gimble also helps you get more B roll that looks smooth like coming up on the barbecue slowly. By the way let your buddy know trim work is nice. :)

PowerDirector Tutorials wow thank you for your time and insight. You are a great communicator and your research will save others time. Will implement your thumbnail suggestion. Are you using the Magic Lantern app or cracked the 30-minute Max recording time on the Canon? I hacked the Sony Alpha series to have endless recording and its great! A5100 A6000 to A6500 it all the same hack. Was thinking about the Panasonic fz-2000 because of the 4k, 5 axis stabilisation and great preamps for mic in's.

Many thanks. I currently use Pinnacle Studio but am considering switching to PowerDirector. One question. When I start a project I may not know at that point whether I will want to use Still Pictures or music. I think you said everything I want to use needs to be imported at the start - including audio. With Pinnacle if I decide I want a picture in the middle of a project I just click on My Pictures, find it and drop it on to the timeline. Have I misunderstood what you said? I am hoping I can just go to my computer and add what I want when I want it, even right at the end. Thanks.

Sorry about not being more clear. Yes you can load items into the folders on the fly. I open PD to see if that work and it does.

Thanks very much! I have ordered PowerDirector 16 Ultimate in the box - I avoid direct downloads. I am hoping it is better than Pinnacle. Looking at all the blurb I think it will be! Many thanks.

Thanks for the Beginner Tutorial. Two question. at the end how would you save the edited tracks back to the library? Anyway to get the date the clip was recorded? I am capturing mini dv tapes and producing DVD's and want to get the date the video was originally taken. Some go back to 2001.
@PowerDirectorTutorials
@PowerDirectorTutorials 6 жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand the question - you can click file save project as and have the whole project saved away for later. As for the 2nd you just check the date and time of the file. When you save a file to your computer it will date it and time stand it. Now if you modified it that will be the sate and time. To get the date of when it was put on tapes I do not know anywhere to do that. I do not think tapes back in those date did any time stamping like a computer does.

So when I do another project save it will save my modified clips in the time line as a new clip. Saying it a different way. I Used PD Capture to put 3 clips in my library. I brought them into my time line one at a time di did some trimming, put a transition between the three clips. So if I now save the project it will keep my timeline as another clip. I won't loose it, right as I have not produced it into an output . Since I used PD to capture the tapes, there are no file I imported. they are clips in my library only. So I don't have a date on a file. I want the date the video was taken a few years ago.

Do a test first do not just take my word for it. Drop a couple clips in the timeline add a couple transitions and the click file save project as. I do not know any way to get a date from a tape. Unless the beta or vhs saved that info right on the tape. When you save anything to a computer it has a file and date stamp. But tapes I do not think they did that at the time. I use to fix the belts in vhs machines back in the day. Man I am old

@PowerDirectorTutorials

Are you talking about while your editing? If so under the video you can set preview quality. Setting it to a lower quality allows for faster editing on slower computers. But when you compile and upload it will be fine depending on the settings you choose to upload in

You flew through it too fast. I’m trying to put three videos together and I know I’ve done it before but I can’t seem to do it now because the first video takes up the whole timeline. I can’t remember how to squeeze it to put others on the same timeline.

Hello new sub here..how to add sound or music..thanks
@PowerDirectorTutorials
@PowerDirectorTutorials 6 жыл бұрын
The same way you add video. Load your sound and then drag into the time line. You can have multiple videos and sounds and even add more time lines. But for now just drag your sound to the bottom time line.
