This typhoon hit the central Mindanao area, Iligan, CDO, and caused a flash flood at around 2 a.m. while everyone was asleep. It decimated an entire neighborhood, and many perished in their sleep. It is similar to Helene in the southeastern part of the USA-Ashville, Erwin, etc. The only difference is that Helene's landfall happened during the day.

This is the typhoon that killed my friend/co-worker Mariebeth in Samar. Her husband who worked overseas had to come home to bury her. I can’t imagine the pain he went through.
