You can tell this ain't your first Rodeo! I'd be lost at that little bent thing that was a bit wiggly! LOL!

Loved how many times John commented how “simple” Powerglides are. And he lost me in the first 30 seconds. Automatic transmissions always seemed like rocket science to me.

A lot of transmissions will rock when revving them up in neutral, especially when they are cold.
@young119842 жыл бұрын
My C4 does it because clutch packs are on the tight side when new, after 2-10 passes it doesnt do it anymore until i change to thicker fluid for mid summer races

I had a 77 volare it had the 2bbd carbed super slant six in it with a 727 trans. It also had a limited slip 3.55 rear. I would put it in reverse get it rolling pretty good go to N rev it up and drop it in low, it would lite both tires up sometimes. The trans got to where it would try to move forward in all gears even park. I got to thinking about it an I come to the conclusion the shift lever is out of line, so I put it in low and punched it for about 20 feet or so and slamed the shift lever in park, it would make a bunch of clicking noises, realigning itself I guess, then it would come to a sudden stop. I put it in reverse, now reverse works lol. The old amco commercial would go honk, honk Amco, I would honk twice and then say Jeff roe. I changed the fluid and filter that helped fix it for a while after that. Eight rear end swaps and two transmissions. I ended up burning up that reman trans too, and the rear end blew out again so I sold that Volare for the same $125 I paid for it, to a guy that put that engine in a Valiant.

Secret bearings find their way around each end of the shaft. Someone should be milling these cases out of billet or something that is not cast. Thanks for the info. Nitro Union runs a C Ford trans. It can take some stress. I believe the turbos like the lanky gear spread, for spool room. I just like anything, worth tearing up. How it goes back together with alterations, is the only thing the wrench cares about. I wondered if you got the Tulip valve figured out? Titanium valves could last forever. Probably worth every penny, atleast on the intake side. I'd see how many seats, and castings they'd wear out. Keep thrashing, you have the ability, money can't buy.

You are missing the rear case bushing. The engagement end of the shaft is flexing trying to stay perpendicular to the gear drum. If the output shaft is too big for the standard bushing you are going to have to do something custom... without the bushing you will keep getting failures there.
@th600mike32 жыл бұрын
He ordered a tci case or something like that. But you’re right. That output really needs rollerized
