I got a Link D8 a few weeks ago. I love it! I live in NYC and ride to work (I'm a public school music teacher). And, I also use it often, with my saxophone or clarinet on my back in a case, to get to rehearsals or a gig. I haven't had to use a bag (I don't know if there are rules about it). But, if you have to, this is very convenient. Power in Motion: Thanks for sharing the great videos about Tern folding bikes.

I have been watching several of these "Power in Motion" videos. Calgary looks just as fantastic as those Tern folding bikes! Thank you very much for these beautifully made videos! I am curious about taking folding bikes on an airplane. At 13 kilos, such a bike pretty much uses up one's 20 kilo baggage allowance plus I would expect a hard case would be needed to protect the bicycle. The Tern Link bikes look a bit bulky to fit into a hard case and once one arrives at one's destination, what does one do with the hard case? Maybe one just has to bite the bullet and pay the airline fee for bringing a bicycle box. Oh no, where does one put the empty box???

I think it is a great bike, but for intermodlar public transportation, it takes a little too long to fold. It takes about atleast 2 minutes everytime fold and unfold. Maybe you could fold the bike not side ways, here is the idea: maybe you lift the front wheel horizontal and lift it back, while give it in an vertical position, so that the two wheels are in one place, and the second move would be to fold down vertical and you take it like a suitcase. this would be the two step, and there could be options for more, if you have to take it in your car or take it in a bag. as student I would like to have a bike to quick open and ride fast from one transport to the other one.

The bag is pretty unnecessary. I'd rather have a backpack just in case i have to carry it for longer distances. And that won't be the exception, since i plan to use it for hiking. That way i could ride whenever there's a rideable street and walk to gain height. And i won't just use it for first and last mile but for all the miles.

Renato, we agreed the bag was unnecessary if you can folded very compactly. However, In this video and in Calgary, the Calgary Transit specified the folding bike can be on C-Train or Bus with no time restriction, but with an appropriate bag, the link are listed below: www.calgarytransit.com/getting-around/bikes-transit As result, we want to demonstrate it. And make good suggestion not take seat just to place the bike. Yes, folding bike can be use more then just last mile!

I figured later on, that there must be some public traffic rule involved. 😁😁 Well, as great as the Link D16 is, i now must have a Verge X20, maybe also a Verge X18. But these will take some time to save money.

The Tern Verge X20 is light, beautiful and fast. But check out the newest next generation of the Verge X11, which is coming out in 2017. This most likely the lightest bike from Tern.

I know what you are talking about. I took a test ride on a Verge X10 at a local dealer and almost fell in love with it. Appearantly there is no need for two gears in front and it is hard to adjust, so the X20 and X18 aren't interesting anymore. I will definitely check the Verge X11 then, thanks for the hint. Do you know when it comes out? I read something about October 2016.
