Excellent video - just had one of these in for a client and your disassembly and reassembly step-by-step was fantastic! Many thanks!

I enjoyed watching this video, very educational and convinced me that I am not willing to do this job myself.

Nice video and explanations. I'm upgrading from a MSI GF63 thin to one of these laptops next week. I take it that power jacks must be a common fault point on devices? I'm curious as to why though? I heard you explaining the high amperage that goes through the solder points as a reason why? My questions would be; a statistic on one in how many laptops, more specifically gaming laptops, will end up needing this repair when used heavily? I would imagine causes could be; mechanical stresses when under high power and high temperatures, like accidental yanks on the power cord (accidentally tripping over it) happening over time? Faulty manufacturing process such as solder points or even slight variations in solder or connector material quality? Why would some high amperage gaming laptops that are used heavily never experience this issue?

At 31:44 my l14 is blown, any clue what might replace that? Laptop shows no power.
