What's the difference between the Kizen version and the old version that on the internet?
@mikemarsh81897 жыл бұрын
Anyone that thinks there are 2 Powerlift type of meets of competition..The Strongman competitions and Powerlifting, your dead wrong.Try the USAWA..They specialize in the most extreme heavy lifts going back to the 1700's like Louis Cyr stuff from backlifts, hip lifts and other odd shape lifts..Big strong men as far as the Supers, they definitely are..I actually talk to 2 of them who weigh around 375 lbs who use to do Powerlifting and they will never barbell squat again and they have done both Powerlifting lifts and these USAWA lifts..And they laugh at the lifters that call the Big 3 lifts..They now say such lifters dont have a clue cause they havent tried these lifts they currently do..They told me they could understand if they tried both types of lifts, but they know they havent, including many coaches.. I would say the barbell squat is one of the most overrated exercises...I can name at least 10 exercises that have a higher horsepower of kinetic force..I think the record with suits and wraps is about 1300 lbs for the squat..Warren Buffet would be darn happy with a 30 percent yearly rate of return on a stock..One lift alone has over a 200 percent increase of horsepower kinetic force over the barbell squat-thats 3 times the load of comparing 2 record lifts..

I wish there would be a whole bachelor's program in order to become Sheiko certified if you're not on the level where you CAN be Sheiko certified right now. I would LOVE to take a 1,2,3,4,etc. year course on learning how to teach others to lift, especially when you don't have the ability to do certain lifts due to injuries. Like right now, I can help beginners with Bench and Deadlift since I do those lifts and immerse myself completely; activity, research, etc.. So, I'm at least that "one step ahead" of beginners, but lifting itself of course is the best teacher. And the fact that I don't squat due to sports injuries and current mobility issues and I don't want to take myself out before hitting other goals first trying to learn a new skill on a shaky foundation keeps me from giving too many "tips" on squatting. I even tell folks I don't like giving tips on squats even though I get the general principal and just direct them to videos. So, if there were Sheiko courses on how to be as knowledgeable as POSSIBLE on each lift as well??? I would take those in a heartbeat.

No we're not strong, and certainly not fit; but it's what we do, and it's satisfying and makes us feel manly, self-confident, and gives some sense of purpose and stability to our lives. What good will a 500 DL do for practical purposes when we're hot and tired? And a 300 BP is gonna win fights or help to do hard work? No. What about your recurring injuries? Maybe u had more agility and practical ability before u started. Don't get despondent. It's not the only thing in life.
@dessertlimbo6 жыл бұрын
Tony Barfridge it definitely improves your overall strength but if you live a normal civilian life it will be less useful but in a fight they will definitely have huge advantage by their sheer weight and strength no matter what you say

Mike I'm happy for you that you got to spend time with him, but I do wish that he answered your questions more directly
@xinsanedefeatx7 жыл бұрын
Charl Coetzee when you have someone of his caliber, they don't feel comfortable giving cookie cutter answers. They realize there are principles which apply to 95%+ of the population and so they pass those on. Giving specific exercise variation or rep ranges makes no sense to them because that stuff is ridiculously individualized. In his mind he would likely be doing more people a disservice by giving "direct" answers. It's like giving a man a fish vs teaching him how to fish, ya feel?
@charlcoetzee937 жыл бұрын
xinsanedefeatx the questions in this video weren't about specific exercises
@joshjohnston73887 жыл бұрын
The answer to most fitness questions is, "well, that depends." What is best? What is fastest? What will get me x with the least effort? The answer to all of those is, "well, it depends."
@charlcoetzee937 жыл бұрын
Josh Johnston sure but there are general rules, and if you want to be more specific choose one common case and use it to illustrate your process or at least educate us on the treatment of that case
@joshjohnston73887 жыл бұрын
Charl Coetzee I dunno, man. Seems like high level professionals in the field actively stay away from those kinds of answers. If someone is trying to sell you on their way or discipline, they tend to answer pretty flat out (if incorrectly). I mean, when I was employed trying to sell contracts, the answer to every question was, "yes, we can do that. Here's how," even when it was pretty close to bullshit. Glad I don't sell for a living anymore. The older I get, the less I pay attention to yes/no and the more I listen to people who say, "sometimes yes, but also..." because they have a more nuanced grasp of their field. I mean, yeah, a new car is great and worry-free if you have the cash, but if you don't, that 96 Camry that needs a grand in work might be better for getting you where you need to go. Same with training.

Man, I usually don't post negative comments but the presentation of this was not good. Clickbatie as hell and "powerlifters aren't strong" was mentioned no where. The clicked link shows this right away "Legendary coach, Boris Sheiko, finally had his programs translated.". A lot of people have translated his programs to the point where they are everywhere now. Max Aita has been doing this for years at this point quite well. Matter of fact I ran a "Sheiko program" before I knew who Silent Mike was. I usually enjoy your content but felt there was a ton of misrepresentation both on this video and on the "buy it now" page. I truly want you to be successful but I think your better than this.

Bruh Sheiko has trained numerous elite athletes... He was among some of the first to turn lifting into a science, I wouldn't be surprised if Rippetard got half of his info from the eastern bloc back in the day, as they are the ones to pioneer in that area. Rippetard continuously uses misinterpreted cues (if 70%+ of the population misunderstand the cue, even if the intended message is good, then it is a bad cue) and says weightlifters should low bar cuz higher absolute load and similar torso angle. They are on completely different levels, Ripp turns average guys into good lifters Sheiko can take an alright athlete and aside from genetic limitations make them rather outstanding, he also turns great athletes into amazing ones

giri kotte that is somewhat true, but in terms of who is the better strength coach, Sheiko hands down. Ripp actually has helped a ton of people, but he's too dogmatic and arrogant. The guy acts as if he already knows everything worth knowing and has a tendency to disrespect and disregard anyone that differs in opinion from him
