What are some positives and negatives to squatting and deadlifting on the same day

You squat and deadlift the same day. That can be both positive and negative.

Creatine worked very well for me. Probably because my diet does not have a lot of creatine to begin with. But unfortunately my doctor told me to stay away from it for awhile because of my gout. I'm going to talk to the doctor about starting up creatine again because I miss the strength and size gain from it.

Yo Matt, recently I did a mock meet and hit a 375lbs squat and 395lbs deadlift at a bodyweight of 160lbs. Every time I max, my squat only approaching my deadlift. This doesn’t make much sense to me as when I started lifting, my squat was a mere 95lbs while my deadlift was already around 185ish lbs. Additionally I have long legs proportionately to my height and my femur is 4 inches longer than my tibia. Since I started lifting, I’ve gained a total of 25lbs of bodyweight, which I believe is the main reason why my squat improved so much. I have an issue pulling past my knees on deadlift and would like to know a way I can fix it.

Could Seal Row be a good candidate for the fourth movement of powerlifting, trying to round up upper body work ? It would keep the barbell aesthetic, but it might be too subject to controversies with variations in arms length...

Powerbuilding for the win💪🏻
@antiwufei553Күн бұрын
"Powerbuilding" is gimmicky bullshit. Worst of both worlds, and most of its proponents are still powerlifting centric. They still call anything other than SBD "accessories" which of itself is antithetical to bodybuilding principles that hold that no particular lift is subordinate or elevated above another. Most don't compete at all, but the ones that do mostly strictly keep themselves to powerlifting. The goals don't even overlap too much. Muscle mass is of course important for powerlifting, but only in specific regions and could leave other regions understimulated or not stimulated at all. Bodybuilding is about building muscle throughout the entire body and doesn't require particular movements to achieve those goals.

@demoncore5342 Powerlifting wasn't a thing until the 1960s. Nobody could have done anything remotely resembling "powerbuilding" before then. That's an anachronistic take at best. Also, what are you talking about "ruining"? No-one can "ruin" how you train but yourself. Arnold and Joe Weider aren't talked about in strength sports and no strength athlete applies their principles. Also, there is no overlap between the modalities, but there is great interference. To succeed at one, you have to take away from the other. If you want to develop your biceps as a powerlifter, you take away from extra bench volume to improve your bench amongst other examples.
