I think Powermatic is a nice looking lathe but like the one-way they are very expensive lathes and the average person cannot afford ether one or at least I cant I haven't worked in 6 years and am disabled due to Parkinson's disease and both of these are far from my reach but if I had 10,000 dollars to spend on a lathe the Powermatic would be the one.but I do enjoy watching you run the Powermatic lathe thank you...James.

It's a nice lathe,but for the vicmark lathes are intresting they have nice Out board turning acc and head stock that pivots

I would totally buy it if it wasn't as expensive as it is, it's a beautiful lathe with a lot of great features but I can't afford it.

@elmo2000ad Well I've heard it from powermatic owners. Althought overall it's a good lathe, some complain about the movable headstock. Apparently it would move from the vibration. But people found ways to make it sturdy. Myself, I like VicMarc and I own a WoodFast lathe.

How much weight can the spindle take

ran dom By the time you max out the 24" diameter and 42" between centers, the lathe can easily handle any weight of wood to be turned.
