for getting the new studs in i just use a sacrificial nut and use the impact to draw it through. Works great every time!

Or, to press in the studs. Buy an open lug nut and 5 to 10 washers. Use an impact. No issues on my XJ when I did it years ago.

I seen on the drive shafts that a cv joint was used I personally do not like them. I have shattered many of them on my old truck I just removed them and went u joint to u joint with a slip yoke.

How much something like this would cost?
@cajunman73892 жыл бұрын
What did this total build cost?
@bmstylee Жыл бұрын
I'm going to say bare minimum $20k. More likely closer to $30k. Brakes are easy $2k. Probably $3000 in wheels and tires alone. Suspension probably $4-5k. A crate 44 with ARB is $4-5k. Engine swap and all the parts for it probably another $4-5k. Bumpers and winch probably $3-4k. Don't forget the vehicle if you don't have that. So basically spending $50k to get a vehicle when finished is worth about $25k. Don't forget labor if you don't have the skills to do it yourself. If so shop labor is easily $150/hr.

Why spend all that money on tires and a lift kit and no locking diffs (the 4 door)? Just going back and forth all day to get over the rocks doesn't look like fun.

If you're not going to re-use factory axle shafts then might as well have upgraded to a 35 spline setup. 35 spline shafts & locker doesn't cost anymore that a 30 or 32 spline combo. Wasted opportunity imo
@TrumpAmerica-20243 жыл бұрын
03:21 the axle shafts were upgraded
@apexpredator_jku3 жыл бұрын
@@TrumpAmerica-2024 you're missing the point...they swapped stock shafts for aftermarket but with the same spline count. If all they were going to do was upgrade axle shafts then by all means but since they swapped out gears, lockers & shafts, getting the same factory spline count is a waste.
@TrumpAmerica-20243 жыл бұрын
@@apexpredator_jku the stock shafts are 30 spline, the upgraded shafts are 35 spline. how is that a waste?
@apexpredator_jku3 жыл бұрын
@@TrumpAmerica-2024 when and where did they say they were 35 spline? That's the whole point of my initial comment. 3:06 he says, "we could re-use the factory 30 spline shafts, they'll bolt right up". Which means, if they had installed a 35 spline shaft & locker, they wouldn't be able to re-use the factory shafts. All they did was swap out factory 30 splines for aftermarket chromoly 30 splines.

@@bigboreracing356 well true but you get a lot more low end forth out of a diesel. A hemi is more designed for race car applications. Your going to have to rev the crap out of that hemi to make it perform in the power band.
