I drove deuces for years before all of those modern 5T trucks and tractors. Those trails they were driving weren’t anything compared with what that deuce can really do. Especially with it’s shorter wheel base by loosing one rear axel and modern military tires. Boy oh boy, would I love to get my hands on that O’l gal they’ve built. I’m sorry but I’ll bet they have no idea what she can really do.

Great job! You should do a bit more studying. You can put a valve in the factory air system, that would not disable the rest of the system if you blow an airbag. The compressors are a lot of extra cost. To run 12v on a 24 system. A simple relay and bring the positive wire off the grounded battery works great.

Exactamentro! It would've not only it without the dumb overhang, but other vehicles could've been carried too. Instead of the silly mesh bed they could've made long mesh ramps that slide under the entire length of the long bed ... even a Civic could've gone up it without the stupid airbag dump gimmick.

For more mpg: less restrictive tubing to tbi and a real cold air scoop at the grille. Replace factory muffler with glasspack. Hotter ignition. Full synthetic oil, trans fluid, and axle gear oil in lowest weights recommend.
@toddk13773 жыл бұрын
It neuters the trucks capabilities doing that. Keep the air intake where it is, can add a snorkel since these trucks and drive completely under water. Also, the trans is 30SAE oil, axles are the same or can use a similar synthetic weight. Wanna add power, the muffler or air intake will do so very little, gotta understand how the multifuel engine and it's components work, the biggest change is to bypass the fdc on the fuel injection pump and increase the fuel, but keep an eye on the pyrometer as it will get hot. Too hot the turbo can be damaged or melt a piston. The multi fuel engines will never be like a cummins diesel or a cat, but they are still powerful and can last a long time if taken care off. Also save a shit ton of money on fuel as it'll burn anything that flammable and lubricated like diesel.

In areas like the frame you're better off using a paint that you apply with a brush/roller. Its much thicker so you get far more coverage with much fewer coats. But the main reason its better is because you can work it into a porous surface like rust with a brush/roller. Spraying won't penitrate a surface, it just sits on top. Thats why painters will apply paint with a sprayer and then spread it with a roller to saturate the substrate. I like oil-based rustoleum which also can be sprayed if you cut it with a solvent.

Isolating the air systems was smart. You should consider an air tank if it doesn’t already have one, but tie into the bags, and use valves to further isolate from tank to bags. With two separate lines for each bag from the tank. Unless the bags have their own air tank already.

Looks absolutely ridiculous why I cut it short if you needed to carry a vehicle. It was the right length to begin with smh
@ChuckUFarley904 жыл бұрын
They wanted it to haul that Samurai, which probably weighs less than 3,000 pounds. A single Rockwell can handle that easily, so the third axle was kind of a waste. With that in mind, they cut out the unnecessary axle, which shortened the wheelbase and lightened the weight slightly. Both of which make trail riding easier. As for cutting the frame, that was done for trail riding purposes. If they left the frame long, the rear departure angle would've been horrible. Moving the rear axle backwards to compensate would've lengthened the wheelbase, and as stated above, that isn't ideal for trails. Shortening the frame, and folding the tailgate while unloaded, fixed that rather nicely. TL;DR, compromises were made so it could haul AND trail ride.

What a lame excuse for using 2 air systems... all that's needed is a solenoid to shut off the air to the rear suspension distribution block/solenoids to keep the system working with a bag rupture. Plenty of Semis run everything with the trucks air supply. The real truth is that this show is a showcase for manufacturers' products who obviously pay for the advertisement. Putting the 3rd air tank so close to the rear tire was a fail also. Tread separation destroys air tank. Could have at least combined the 2 systems so that the electric pumps back up and parallel the engine driven pump... mount the 3rd tank with the other 2 tanks to increase capacity. I suppose that with the limited budget and time constraints that some lame content gets through unfiltered..... Nice 4x4 Parade Queen though
