Monogamous Bonobo A Ignition Compression Engine can use Diesel,Fluids, and Oil just like a Multi-Fuel.A Multi-Fuel is still a Diesel Engine that has different Pistons,Injectors, and Fuel Pumps which is why you can even use Gasoline, but only if it is Mixed with Diesel or Motor Oil.The 7.8L was a turd and under powered. They were only a success overall for the 2 1/2 Ton Truck and because Military Trucks don't see many Mileage, about 30,000 some times. That was until they came out with the M35A3 which had Caterpillar Engines.

You can run aviation “Gas” in a 2 and half ton military truck. We had an aviation gas tanker in Germany (1958-1962) and it always ran on 80/87, 91/96 or 100/130 octane. We actually ran all our vehicles on aviation gas. We were suspose to use MO Gas, but never had a local at the airfield.

Wish I had a dime for every mile I've driven one of those tough, ugly S.O.B.s One of the versions we had when I first enlisted had a gasoline engine with the exhaust going out between the right side axles. Some of the Germans loved to cut in and out of our convoys and slow down to make us pass them. If you timed it just right, you could make the truck backfire into the German driver's window. That usually was sufficient to make them go away.
