The inexperience is apparent in these comments. It’s a stamped steel pan, they used a punch specifically for this reason. Also makes its own bung to cut threads in with the displaced metal. Notice the grease on the tap? That’s to contain any small chips. This is a new engine and already has metal in the oil, the few odd chips that may have gotten in there are not gonna make a difference.

Not a bad return on investment tbh 12 k and you double ( at least) your HP. A new mustang GT is like 30 -40k depending on options and if you add a $12k twin turbo kit you pretty much get a 800whp monster for roughly $50k that can pretty much smoke anything in it's class. I know it's a huge cost upfront but damn if you don't get results.

Because the lower you go on tire pressure the lower the dyno is going to read.. best thing is a straight up none drag radial with high tire pressure to get good dyno numbers .. an easy way to prove this if you don’t believe me is go dyno your car with a regular radial tire at 45 psi .. then toss on some drag Radials at about 25psi and let me know what the difference is .. my car made about 40 less rwhp with drag radials at low pressure. 😪😪

Personally , I liked the way they did the oil pan taps. The only metal lost would be a tiny amount from thread cutting which would settle to the bottom and be collected by the drain plug magnet. If any happened to go through the system , it would be caught by the filter. In my opinion , much less chance of problems than pulling the pan and welding on fittings. I think many of the commenters missed the fact that the drill bit didn't go all the way through , but only close enough for the punch to finish making the hole and leave a good base for cutting threads.

@@Thelongmanable still makes it only 1 mustang in every 2,674 people in america at the 86,000 US sales. then you have to figure the number that were v8 and not the ricer i4 or wifeys v6

In the 1980's, I used to tune Weber twin barrel carbies & Holley 4 barrels with a good cam & exhaust and be happy to see an extra 80hp. I probably spent the same amount of money as this kit cost, relevant to the year etc. 800hp? Incredible.

WTF did I just witness!!!! Drilling and tapping an oil pan while it’s still attached to the freaking engine!!!! You are putting metal chips into your oil pan!!!! I know there’s usually a magnet in there, but c’mon. That’s crazy. Look…. I know there are redundant systems that keep particulates from getting into your rotating assembly, but do you really want to take that chance?

ivan bengtson We are all fully aware of other manufacturers issues but they are working on a 5.0 that is notorious for breaking oil pump gears when 700 plus hp is pulled through them.

my Opel Corsa has 90hp. But this is Spain, driving around a 5.0 V8 would cost a fortune in gas. Gas is cheap in america, so automakers don't bother squeezing horsepower from small engines.
