Greg it's so impressive that you from tasting to tasting, finding the nuances which bind different spirits together and delivering it in a clear way. Applause to you my friend 👏🥃 I've only had the Three Swallow before and I absolutely loved it. I'm not a fan of Irish Single Pot Still whiskies in general but that one I really enjoyed. Thanks David, like I said to others there are batch variation by essence for every whisky in the world, every cask being different, but there is more or less consistency according to varied brands & even varied expressions or each expression. I get here & there some good feedback on this 12 yo, but alas my experience with this bottle, one bottle (unlike other occasions I had to try some) is so far decent, but not great especially for the price I paid, but we'll see if it evolves towards a better experience, Cheers ! 🥃

I'm on my 5th or 6th bottle of PJL and I've found it to be pretty consistent to my tastes but I don't have a particularly skilled palate. The Spots have become more widely available but their prices have skyrocketed. Yellow Spot is double the cost of PJL and while I do prefer Yellow Spot, it's not twice as good. So PJL is a very nice accessible single pot still whiskey. Fascinating perspective on the similarities of some Cognacs! I really haven't explored Cognacs at all so I may have to try some samples at my local shop. So glad to hear your back is doing better. I can empathize as I struggled with lower back troubles for much of last year.

Yeah I really don't understand what's going on with this bottle....it happened too with 2 Bourbons which I loved during tasting on a show or at someone's place, then when I got the bottle it was nowhere near what I tried, bland, oaky, spicy, nothing standing out, never felt like reviewing them so far...batch variations occur more than some people think....Cheers !
