Thank you great video, I'm getting back into skating in my early 40s now and I want to pass some great knowledge to my son's. Your videos are great, especially when you are able to slow it down and explain each step

Thanks a lot! Yeah I really want to break down all the skills for my viewers because it makes them way simpler to learn that way!

I use the Mohawk or Eagle method. The beauty of this move Coach is BW to FW but also a directional change, Nice!

One thing you didn’t mention but you did in your demonstration is that the last step in the transition should be on your inside edge instead of a flat bladed glide , it’s almost like a Mohawk transitioned from backwards skating

HI Marcel, Great channel, thanks! Can you do it on inline skates? I'm in UK, the Ice rinks are expensive/few and far between but do have skates (2nd youth did skate 30 years ago as a kid nut want to pick it up :) . Most your interesting stuff is (not surprisingly) on ice. How much of this is transferable?
@MarcelsHockeySchool2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you! Yes you could do it on inline skates. It would be a bit different though because you can't slide into the transition, but would have to rotate quickly and take a wider turning radius. A ton of Inline stuff is very transferable to ice.

Hey, Ich bin 12 und würde so gerne ins Eishockey ist das jetzt zu spät noch anzufangen? Ich fahre halt extrem gerne Schlittschuh und wollte halt gleich dann den passenden Sport dazu machen.😀

Sometimes I got the impression that my hip (opening) mobility lacks, sometimes not. What might be the issue (apart from a needed minimum hip mobility obviously)? I also go deep/ drop the hips on purpose
@MarcelsHockeySchool2 жыл бұрын
You might just need to get more comfortable on your edges, because you don’t really need huge hip mobility to do this. Practice gliding, doing light curves while going backwards.
