This is the first set of Powerstop brakes I've run on a car and I'm very happy with them. Watch to find out the crazy amount of miles on them and how they've held up so far.

Good vid! I daily drive a 2016 Dodge Charger R/T & changed the pads/rotors with the z26 kit after 40K miles after the oem brakes started getting mushy & making noise. Almost no brake dust & great stopping power. Was worth the upgrade!

Thanks for making this video. I recently purchased the a Z26 kit for my 07 Monte Carlo. My mechanic said that both the brakes and rotors look a lot less beefy than what he usually gets from Advanced. It's reassuring to see that you got so many miles on your set so thanks for easing my mind. Cheers!

When you put really high performance brakes meant for stuff like track use on a regular every day driven normal vehicle, they will absolutely last a ridiculously long time. High quality parts man👍

That's not true at all. That's like saying wearing basketball shoes the pros use are excellent for everyday Normies living their 9-5 work week. Drilled and slotted rotors aren't for 99% of drivers. Even people who track their cars. I've been tracking my cars for over 20 years now. I only use blank rotors. D/S rotors only work on professional racecars. It's all marketing.

This is pretty reassuring for me. I got the Z26 for the front and Z23 for the rear on my 2020 Civic. I live in the SoCal mountains and tend to treat the 18 like a track, when there isn't any traffic. I warped my rotors pretty quick, so I'm hoping these last longer, front pads got low in less than 15,000 miles(previous pard were Akebono, rotors were Raybestos, OEM rears with 62k miles). I might need to see if they have these for Smart cars for my wife.

I liked them so much that I put another set on a couple weeks ago. I had nearly 350k on the last set. Hope they do as well for you as they did for me.

Geez, and I thought 120k on my front rotors was good! That’s a fantastic testimonial for that brand. I’m assuming the answer is no, but have the rotors warped at all, or are they completely flat?
@txaccord
@txaccord 2 жыл бұрын
At one point, I thought they had warped some because it would shimmy as I came to a stop. After reading about other people's experiences with brake shudder in general, I bedded in the brakes by doing several 60mph to 15mph hard braking sessions in a row. That solved it.

@@txaccord you must be related to Chris fix lol. I’m looking into getting the power stop break kit for my 2011 mustang. Trying to give it the T.L.C. It needs. The break system as of now works fine but looks rough. I figured now would be the time to upgrade but I had my doubts. This video really helps me with my decision and if there are any other suggestions that you have or videos I should check out let me know!! Thanks!

@@cartershelton7591 Thanks. Have heard of Chris Fix, but that's it. These brakes did really well for me. Replaced with same thing. I do most of my documenting on driveaccord.net. I show what I use and how long it lasts. Just swapped out my radiator last night. Last one gave me 450k miles of service.

What year and model Honda do you drive? I have a 2015 Honda crv lx and the factory brake rotors have 80k on them but they're warped so I was thinking about a powerstop kit. I'm not sure if I should go with the Z36 kit it being that I went with bigger than stock wheels and tires. Thanks for the video buddy. 👍

I have a 2003 Accord V6 6spd. These brakes lasted a long time on my car, but they will still feel like they shudder as you come to a stop after they get some age on them. Doing several hard braking stops over and over is supposed to help make that shudder feeling go away.

Manual transmission? What do you do for maintenance?
@txaccord
@txaccord 3 ай бұрын
Yes, manual transmission. I've become a fan of using Redline Oil. I change the manual transmission fluid around every 100k miles. I wasn't good about doing that with my original transmission and had to replace it at 320k. Learned my lesson. The replacement transmission was out of a wrecked Accord. That transmission now has almost 800k on it and is doing fine just by keeping up with the fluid changes. An automatic transmission would require more frequent fluid changes, but the MT does not.

@@txaccord I do mine by the OM. Every (2) years. OM calls for the same time frame on both the manual and the automatic transmission cars.

I have an 06 sedan, did you have to change your brake lines or anything ?
@txaccord
@txaccord 2 жыл бұрын
No, didn't do anything with the brake lines. One kinda weird thing is that I had a brake clip rubbing on the rotor after I got it all back together. I pulled it back apart and compared the clips from this kit with my previous clips. The ones from this kit were slightly smaller than my old clips so they rubbed. I re-used my old clips and they worked fine.

Where do you drive yo get that many miles?! Thats semi truck miles 😂
@txaccord
@txaccord 9 ай бұрын
It is comparable to truck drivers for sure. I did medical deliveries for several years. I had many years where I drove over 100k/yr. My two highest years were 141k & 147k. I also maintained another full time non delivery job during that time too. It was insane.
