The way the 2 tanks work is there is a switch on the dash for tank 1 and tank 2. when you are low on fuel in one tank you switch the switch to 2. I love the channel and a 90s obs powerstroke is my dream truck.

With one big fuel tank more engineering has to go into it cause of the sloshing when accelerating and stopping. So Ford made 2 tanks. That's my guess @@AustinTA-cd9rs

Wow dude! You got an absolute steal for that truck! I'm excited for the next video. A Hydra, a straight pipe, and set of stage 1 injectors like a 160cc or 180cc 0% nozzle will really wakeup that truck! That's what I have on my obs. I'd be curious to see what a stage 1 KC turbo would do to the truck. The hpop in these trucks can't really keep up with the stage 1.5 injectors but it's still plenty fast. Love the content bro!

@@joshuarossmiller3219 Yeah they should work fine, but the obs 7.3s came with a 15 degree hpop, whereas the 99-03 trucks came with a 17 degree hpop which flow more oil than a 15 degree. Upgrading to a 17 degree pump or an Adrenaline Hpop would definitely help take full advantage of those stage 1.5s!

Front and rear tank switch is next to the headlight switch you have to toggle between them it won’t automatically do it. We had a 96 7.3 for 360k miles till recently.

I just bought a 97 7.3 with 286k on it and I already had to tear the motor out and do a tear down/rebuild on it lol. Work in progress but it's super clean. Grew up in 7.3's

I run a stage 2 industrial injection turbo ,160cc aliant injectors ,jelibuilts,fassfuel,banks intercooling kit, on my 97 dually and she runs great,it keeps up with deleted 6.7’s powerstrokes and certain 6.7 Cummins

The way the two tank system works is there should be a switch by where the light switches are on the left side of the steering column and it will say fuel and the switch with turn it back and forth from the two tanks and if your fuel gauge works correctly it will change with whatever tank your on

You have to switch from tank to tank. The switch should be left of the steering wheel next to the light lever.

Obs 7.3 odometers will roll over when they get too 400,000 and go back to 300,000 so it could have more then 300,000 on it

Found your channel because of the OBS 7.3…. Staying for the OBS 7.3🤝🏼 you should do some fuel economy videos for it! I’ve got a 96 F250 crew cab and I’ve gotten up to 22mpg on the interstate, stock everything except a 6637 air filter. 17-19mpg every day of the week. I’m obsessed with it

Highly suggest a new style 99-02 electric fuel pump conversion makes them fire up so much easier and run so much better. And you don’t deal with any more leaky mechanical pumps.

You can choose between tanks, if one gets low on fuel than you can switch tanks while driving on the road.

there should be a switch to the right of the steering wheel, that says front/rear. your front tank is bigger than the rear. use that to switch between tanks. you can do it going 60mph on the highway. it should never cut out or anything.

You can switch the fuel from front to back or back to front when ever you want. I just sold my crew cab 😢 I did so much work to it !

Word of advice if you do anything bigger than 160/30’s, and or a Smokey tune you better start looking into delipped pistons. I currently have at least one cracked piston with 180/30’s and a stage 2 hpop. Also avoid Full force injectors. Rosewood or Unlimited are great.

So I'm considering a trade for a 97 f250 crew cab short bed 7.3. it's a work truck with ranch hand bumpers and like 240k on it. Disc brake rear end from a newer truck. White with tan stripe. It's really growing on me the idea of owning one of these. I hope it works out should know more this week. The truck didn't want to stay running last weekend so this week they're gonna look into it a bit and see what the issue was but it's the coolest family. They have like a dozen Ford trucks for their company. The interior is really solid too. I'm in south Houston area. Be careful with a chip, I’ve seen many virgin 7.3s ruined by a chip, & not increasing the turbo. Don’t do a k/n they dust engines.

The odometer rolls back on the obs trucks at 400k and goes back down to 300k so In reality she could have 700k miles on her
