Wo bahout acha insaan hain sabki help karta hain Ye log daru pi ke gaadi kyu chalate hain. Kyu aisa karte hain yaar ye, Kyu? Aaj he mene study IQ ka video dekh jisme Bola ki india mein puri duniya mein sabse jaada log road accident par mat jaate hain. Kya baat bole Bhai bataoo yaar. 😢 Mein cahahta hu ki Government jada se jada dhyan Metro, RRTS aur bullet train projects pe de. There’s a project called - TENDERSURE from Bangalore. If this project can be put at the heart of our “SMART CITY” program, then in a matter of 10 years, our cities will be almost on par with Bangkok! Without footpaths, Indian cities will continue looking “WRETCHED”! Of course, we also have to STOP LITTERING & SPITTING in public places!

I was in Spain a few months back. First time to Europe. OMG, the footpaths!! Foothpaths constitute 40-60% of the overall road. Clean, leveled! Its not something very complicated. Its not like building an international airport, metro or bullet train. Its a simple footpath. Yet this Govt, or any Govt for that matter doesn bother. Pune has some decent footpaths in some areas......where 2 wheelers will take over if they have to wait 30 seconds on the road for a signal.

Europe is insanely well planned.. tbh every poor/developing country is poor because of themselves. We Indians need to be more worried about infrastructure, education instead of caste or religion. A lot of these uneducated and even educated people engage in this. We are sheep 🐑 😅

As being responsible citizens we must understand that The Municipal Corporation(Nagarpalika) is responsible for not maintaining cities.We must stop blaming random politicians from MLAs,MPs to PM for the situation. Choose a good government at the Municipal level. The only thing the state government should do is increase the budget of Municipal Corporations and increase capital expenditure.

Reason is we follow top down funding system means our major taxes goes to central gov then it diverted to state and then to local authorities so….while most developed nations follow….bottom up approach…..means for local basic maintainance governance local authorities take taxes and directly resposible to respective area

Beaurocrats responsible for using funds and in coordination with local mukhiya and mayor most funds got gulped down and bz people cant question as much beaurocrats bz they are not elected and when they question local mukhiya or mayors they end up we dont have enough power to use funds….

​@@manurazgoit preventing encroachment of footpaths and enforcing their own zoning laws has nothing to do with central government. The local municipality has its own funds from property taxes, fines, registration charges etc.,. Local governments must implement their rules.

Thanks a ton for highlighting this critical issue! Walkability is one of the MOST BASIC features any city should have, and most Indian metro cities fail spectacularly on this. If we are aspiring to host the Olympics in 2036 and become "Viksit Bharat" by 2047, why should we not demand Amsterdam and Tokyo-like cities from our government? If our aspirations are so high, our demands should be no less.

Sir, I am a visually impaired person and always go to office by walking. I know what challenges the visual impaired person feels while walking on road or footpath in our area that is Banti Bazar in South Mumbai. There is literally in existence of footpath or whatever footpath, they have is just a market, so where should a disable person walk? Sometime good roads and bad footpath makes more accidents as people walks on road and cars are uncontrollably fast. This is what the same situation in our area.

I live in Mira-Bhayandar and ln some places even if the footpath is made many people pee there and that's why no one walks throuht it. Another problem is that due to the new double decker metro flyover,how will the peole cross the road because the bridge ends just on the intersection

While few people like us always try to find dustbin otherwise store it at back pocket. Footpath or walkble cycling lanes greenery both sides of roads are some amazing things

You must do a podcast with Naresh Narasimhan from VA associates. His firm is a significant contributor to IT parks of Bangalore and scientific infra in India. You might have heard about the popular Church st in Bangalore that got revamped. He was the brain child behind it. Indian cities are ripe to have proper planning unlike how they are being managed now, which is that there's no proper design plan, water supply, drainage or electricity plans in place. It's time that the government adopts a standard design language for all existing cities and maybe build new cities like Dholera where all infra is pre-planned.

I had the opportunity to visit Beijing last yr for some buisness related work. I was awestruck by how clean and walkable thr the city was. The roads had proper lane marking and no potholes in sight. In malad east station road from western express Highway to Malad railway station their are footpath on the left and side of road but that area has been captured by street vendors and unfortunately people walked on roads and it causes chaos and traffic on roads and some times vehicle pass very close to people. And BMC wanted to make skywalk but street vendors apposed and said that if people used skywalk so We can't able to sell anything on street.
