It's funny, many years ago me and a friend of mine, Chris Hecker, bought clutches for our cars almost simultaneously. He bought for his beautiful 67 RS Camaro with a built small block and I bought one for my 71 240 Z with a small block with a Dough Nash 5 speed. The clutches didn't work. They would not disengage as they should. These were the days of the two arms made with with what looked like a stack of 3 feeler gauges that held the steel disc and mounted on threaded bolts. I am the person that told them that the clutches didn't work and the reason why. The feeler gauge material that the arms were made of were hanging on the threads of the bolts. A few weeks later I received a call from McLeod offering me the first full floater. They had drilled two holes on the steel plates and covers the threaded bolts with some kind of bullet proof material that would not let the plate hang up anymore, and the rest is history. Of course I was never mentioned as the person who told them why their clutches didn't work. Today many years later I'm looking for one of their new and very different dual discs for the same 240 Z, now owned by a good friend of mine.
