I had a shop install the RXT 6923-05 in my 70 440 6bbl Roadrunner. I'm dealing with the dreaded "changed more than one part in a system" issue, that makes troubleshooting more difficult. The new dual disc replaces a McLeod single disc C & PP but I also had a hydraulic throwout bearing conversion installed. I've worked with this shop before, and the owner is who exclusively works on my car, so I believe the hydraulic T.O. bearing is setup properly. I will have to check for discs dragging on any of the components or areas this video discusses. I haven't seen these suggestions before this video, so THANK YOU very much for posting it!

Hello, i have the rxt on a stock 2010 camaro SS. Sometimes I hear the clutch rattling at idle in neutral. I Just want to make sure if its normal. Some people told me it's normal due because the discs are floating and once you depress the clutch pedal it goes because there is a force on them and they stop floating.

Bought the street clutch and it feels good but just at idle it makes noise and when I push the clutch in it goes away

I like the way this clutch performs BUT my only complaint is they are noisy in 4th gear and below 2k RPM. It rattles

My RST clutch in my spf cobra shudders from a stop unless you really slip it? Is this normal? I have a pretty peaky 600+ windsor stroker…it also breaks right near the top of pedal travel? It does not slip though…

quick question. i have a 2014 mustang, do i need to put a spacer behind the slave cylinder if i want to run the RXT?

Juan, You do not need a spacer if you're running an OEM or McLeod 1200 slave cylinder.

I would recommend an adjustable slave cylinder throw out bearing system, Mcload clutches tend to have a very high peddle before clutch starts the engage.

I have a 1200hp rxt on my 2012 gt500 & its been very problematic. Ive a hard time getting out of gear at bumper to bumper traffic & reverse & lock out at high rpms. No issues before this clutch. I bought this clutch cause i had the 1000hp on my 5.0 around 700rwhp & worked great but no luck with this one i called and left a message to see if they would help me out but i got none & now i am building the gt500 with a 4.5 whipple and need at least 14000hp clutch idk if ill be buying it from mcleod. The shop that installed knows how to install them they done a few but i got no luck so instead drove the car normal so i wouldnt break the transmission or any other parts.

@Mike Gold yeah same here wasted my money time & was unable to enjoy my car for the most part you would think they be a little more understanding & at least replace the clutch at their cost or us only pay for shipping I was told to just send it inn but pay for the 300or400$ to fix it when it isn't my problem + paying for the labor of bringing my transmission back down. I got a great deal on a mantic tripple disk & is adjustable each disk rated for 1k hp so I'll use 2 disk. Idk why companies shoot them self's for trying to make a dollar on a customer that paid good money for a clutch that was defective & knowing clutches wear out & will be back. Although when they are done right they work but yeah I am giving this mantic a shot..

Same issue on 2 cars they told me to watch the video which means pay to take the clutch out and test at that point mine as well get another brand in my opinion I’ll never buy this clutch again nor will the shop that did the work even offer this clutch to customers I’m not the only one with the same issue. Shifting issues at high rpm

Nope didn’t call tech support about the rattling clutch. Yanked it out and installed a SPEC stage 3 + Problem solved.

How can so many have the same noise/rattle problems? The RXT really gives me pause.

The rattle that is associated with twin disc clutches is from the “pin drive” floater plate design. The floater rattles against the pins when the clutch is released. This is not the case with the RST/RXT/RXT 1200 due to the spring steel strap that is riveted to the ear of the floater plate. This stabilizes the floater to keep it quiet and from rattling. Other noises that come from the Bellhousing would be pilot bushing/bearing or a bad throw out bearing.

Great vid. Having an issue right now with contact between disc and floater straps. Fred is sending a new gold ring. Hopefully this fixes my issue and I can get it to shift the way it's supposed to. But this clutch is beautiful when it is working properly

Honestly never really been happy with my RST for my Cobra. Slips bad. Rated for 800 and I have 658 rwhp. Feel like I wasted my money honestly.
