That doesn't work if developer mode is disabled. Only way is a hardware reset

@@allissahbasse7356 You need to look up the schematics for your particular chromebook. It involves opening the machine, removing the internal battery and connecting two contacts on the motherboard.

Worked for me on a Lenovo S345, it wanted to do a system update (February 2025) and after the update I was able to sign in and powerwash it and re-enable OS verification just like the video said 😁

The rg associated witht he device has disabled developer mode. If this was a used device you purchased, contact the organization (usually can be found on the log in screen) ask them to deprovision and then delete from their OU. Otherwise buy a referb motherboard. swap is super easy.

Thank you! It worked just great on my Lenova Chromebook 300e. It was Admin locked when i bought it used and had no clue how to get the old admin off so i could officially own my Chromebook... I just followed along with the video and I was able to unlock it just like in rhe video. Thanks again! BTW - can anyone tell me a simple and inexpensive way to remove the Carrier Lock on any given Android and/or iOS cell phone. One would think that you should be able to control that in the developer mode or IDK... HELP! 😅😅😅😅

Carrier lock as in the carrier will not work with it? Or a general lock from the previous user instance? If it is true carrier, generally speaking there is no way that I know of to get that removed without talking to the carrier to be able to use it on their network.

I also use the Lenovo 300e Chromebook but after Powerwash, it is preventing me from signing in while my password is correct. After entering my email and password, it'll still come back to sign in to your Chromebook again. I have tried esc, refresh & power button but that doesn't work at all for me. Our Chromebooks have forced re-enrollment. So even if you power wash it when the device reconnects to the Internet it will re-enroll.

This is why you are not just power washing it but doing the extra step son that it takes you off the schools administrator or companies roster who can control the device remotely. He does say this method will not work a 100% of the time. You may have to download software to cut ties with the manager of your device.

It ask me to confirm if I want to return to secure mode with only two options to confirm or cancel. when I cancel another screen flashes for a split second and returns to the same screen asking if I want to return to secure mode. endless loop.

you can bypass the disabled dev mode by unscrewing back panel and booting it without the battery connected to the motherboard then reconnecting it when its booted

so uhhh i basically was confused for a bit and then it was saying my system was disable the developer mode anddd i was raging and started hitting the keys and it restart.. i was shocked my school put a manager on my personal laptop and when i asked they kept pushing it back then till then school was done and i didnt get to get it off this was around may and i had the manager on my laptop ever since but thanks to this video it helped me out a bit.

all you have to do is hold CTRL and hit Q and start hitting every letter key from left to right after Q and it should completly re enable itself for you to personalize the computer. Edit: You're welcome

Contact the district and get in contact with their IT department. They didn't deprovision the device correctly. If that's not possible, buy a replacement motherboard.

So I will say letting them manage the device while you're still enrolled is beneficial for required apps that are pushed. Remember most other policies are attached to your account, like content filtering. If you really want to break from that. Replace the motherboard to ensure that the SN is not attached or registered with your school.

@@3v1lp4nda3 Sadly there is no way I know of to bypass developer mode being blocked. You would need admin rights to Google Workspace to change your device's OU location
