I love that you make things; it really appeals to me. Just be sure you give the final product enough screen time, since most people are pretty visual.

Another complete banger of a video. The first 2:18 is comedy Gold. Your sense of humour is amazing. As someone who is using my childhood pencil box as my dice and notes box this video is well needed. Side note I did put googly eyes and placed felt on the inside of the pencil box to make it look like a mimic. It’s looks so bad but I love it so much. Great video as always!

No idea if you'll be using the X1C in the future for other 3D printing thing but if you do a top tip to help is to turn OFF the aux fan (the big one on the left hand side that blows across the top of the print) a lot of people within the X1C community have found that it really isn't needed for 99.9% of prints and leaving it on causes prints to lift from the left side. 👍

It isn't as compact, but i use a cigar box to hold my stuff. I found one second hand that was shaped like a book, in faux leather and had a picture of Don Quijote on it, which i found funny. It holds quite a few dice, around 5 sets or so, and with a bit of felt the larger compartment makes for a nice little dice tray. I also cut a notebook, that was slightly too broad, to fit in it along side a pencil and a figurine i had lying around that should fit an 1 inch square. I play online almost exclusively so it doesn't see the light of day very often, but i can't help but smile when i open it up knowing that i am about to play a heroic character just like Don Quijote, who took it a bit farther than the table.

I just wanted to say, great work on the video. Another tip for finding local 3d printers, go to local craft events or conventions. There's always some at those if you want someone local. If you really wanted I'm sure you could ask your viewers to print for you as well. I'm sure I'm not the only one that runs 3d printers.

Your videos are great. We all fail rolls and saves in DnD. It’s part of the fun and frustration!! If the print had failed I still would have enjoyed the video and learned a lot and then watched your second attempt. Post even when you fail. :)

For finding 3D printers near you - check out your local university if you have one near you. If there are any IT curricula, they just might have a 3D printer

kek kek kek, yes yes, designing this stuff gets you on every turn. As they say, fail fast, fail early, fail often. Keep at it, and future version will take shape quick and suit your needs even better.

Hm, I made my box out of an A5 plastic case and some styrofoam deciders. Took me about 2 hours and does the job. I guess it all depends on the minimum requirements.

An altoids box holds 2 sets of dice and a mini.
@ardenthebibliophile5 ай бұрын
At the risk of being too adversarial, your competition is a locking Tupperware with stuff inside of it. Isolating the dice can be done with a cheap bag, the cards bound with a rubber band, and the rest loose but manageable to dump out and get. A dice tower is not necessary at that scale, just roll the die in the tupperware/box. Dont get me wrong, what you built is neat and certainly very custom to you. The design is cool too. But is that enough to make it worth sacrificing robustness?

I'm like him and yes, I'm generally happy to sacrifice a bit of strength and a little practicality for cool aesthetics. There are thousands of aesthetic accessories available on Etsy, this is something a lot of us want.
