Yeah, this sports is gonna be so different in a couple of years. Even at the rec levels, i'm starting to see kids smoking shots and hand fight like crazy now.

Julian Arnold and Hunter Johnson are just experts at getting low! Such a big thing when getting attacked you're able to absorb so much power and return it back

Genuine question, do you mean keeping knees bent at the NVZ?
@BlGSac
@BlGSac 2 ай бұрын
@@t81629 I mean more so in transition or at the baseline. You mentioned 5:08 in one of your other comments, look how low they are when getting the balls, Julian was so low was able to absorb pace and throw the ball back. Same thing with Hunter Johnson in that point, he was low waiting for the ball and was able to respond. In terms of the No Volley Zone, staying low and having knees bent is a real important skill at the NVZ as well, you are able to respond better, you can see the ball better imo, and counters punishes and speedups I believe are more intuitive.

@@t81629 Another real good example of the importance of keeping your knees bent just look at Vivienne David, you will see how clutch just getting lower is!

Crazy how close Matt wrights shoulders are to his ears

Very good, tight games 2 and 3. Staks/Wright had chances to close the show but didn't. Both Arnold/Johnson played consistently well. Arnold took advantage of Wright's several pop-ups/mishits and attacked Wright several times with sneaky flicks and rolls off the bounce. Ultimately, that was the difference.

Love watching the game , although Mr. Arnold can be a bit annoying 😍. He was able to hit the nerve of the whinny attorney🤣. I’m glad they won👏👏👏!!!

Julian Arnold playing with paddletek?! I thought he had a signature Volair paddle.
@BlGSac
@BlGSac 2 ай бұрын
He broke his contract with Volair a long time ago. Volair funded his career for a while to get started and I believe when Julian had gotten big enough, Volair wanted a return on their investment and Arnold said fuck no im not paying you, went to the Pickleball Central both at a PPA Tourney and played with the Joola Perseus. He's long stopped with the Joola and just uses the Paddletek. But yeah Volair and Julian Arnold are long done

I agree, but I'll give him a pass playing against Matt Wright, who will verbally intimidate in every way possible if he's got the edge. It would be hard to take Matt's shit talk without having a plan to dish some out too (if you have that in your personality). Also, PPA is clearly encouraging and looking for this kind of player drama - they could stop if they wanted to, but it gets attention.
