Just came across your vid, over all great job on the tutorial! I notice you have a leak on your rear main seal, between your oil pan and filter that wet spot on the aluminum area. I had my rear main seal replaced three times covered under bumper to bumper. 1st was done believe it or not at 600 miles 2nd around 14k miles and 3rd around 26k knock on wood since then it’s held. I’m in the neck of 69k miles on it now. Love the upgrades and your maintenance vids keep it comin bud!🤙🏽

Have you done replaced the transmission fluid yet? Not sure how many miles you're at. I'm right at the point of needing to and not seeing a lot of people talk about them for this gen duramax. Trying to figure out the best approach to take. Thanks!

So Scott, did you fill the new filter up with fluid before you put it on? I tried to get the dealer to change my trans filter but they said no, you don't need to do that till 45000 miles. Never heard of a dealership turning down easy money. Anyways thanks for posting this Scott. Keep 'em coming man. Did you notice any difference in the trans temp, since you put the Wehrli plug in?

cavtj1- Yes I sure did. I didn’t film it. Although it’s unfiltered fluid, it’s brand new so it shouldn’t be an issue. I can’t believe they wouldn’t change it!!! I did notice a change in fluid temps! I have a video filmed I am putting together now on the plug review. You’ll have to wait a few days for that one! Thanks for the positive feedback! I am having fun doing this. And hoping to help someone along the way!

Dealerships turns shit down all the time now. Wanted them to change the oil early in mine (about 1k early because I was going to be extremely busy and wouldn’t have time around that mileage) they wouldn’t. I ended up doing it myself

Scott Link- awesome man! One more question, if the truck is all stock and at stock height, do you think the new filter sticks down to low to where it could become a ground clearance problem? On a lifted truck I don’t see it being an issue, but just wanting to get your opinion on stock height?

No sir. I have seen stock trucks with all of the filter upgrades that I run with no issues. I will say, the potential for rock impact is increased. But just slightly. It won’t be an issue unless you are on a farm or frequently travel on gravel/ rocky roads. Regular day to day use, not an issue.

The factory filter is just fine honestly. It is not necessary in any way. Just additional protection. The factory filter styles could last you an eternity. Thanks for watching!

If your thermostat was stuck you would have high temps especially during the warmer months. I’ve been running this for almost a year and a half and it’s kept my transmission nice and cool!

You should refill the filter before install, also ppe makes a oil filter now I had the cat kit on my 19 duramax but I switch to a ppe, I had bad luck though because it spun off off about a month after now I’m always worried about spin off filters.

Victor Oliveira - I looked at those also. They offer great filtration. And you can use your factory screw on bung. If I ever have any issues and swap back, it may be a PPE oil filter. Either way, both offer better than factory filtration! And sorry to hear that!

I have a stock 2020 2500 high Country with no lift. Will this double deep hang low enough for potential damage or is it still tucked up high enough?

I think it will be ok. Stock truck still sits up pretty good. Shouldn’t be an issue unless you do off-roading. Or rough type driving on rocky farm roads or something. If most of your time is on the road, it’s a non issue. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!

@@2015_Rubicnn what makes its weak 1. Tie rods same diameter as your fingers 2. Disconnect sleeve in the front passenger side differential, its powdered metal instead of billet metal 3. To many moving parts 4. CV boots crack over time slinging grease everywhere CV axles pop out on lifted trucks if on severe angles 5. Front end is hell to keep lined up 6. My 850LBS snowplow was hell on the IFS I had on my GMC now that I have a solid front axle on my truck all of the above I mentioned is cured The strength in my solid axle 1. 10" ring gear 2. 1550 steering u-joints 3. 3.5" axle tubes 4. 35 spline inner and outer axle shafts 5. Axle is rated for 7000lbs 6. Front end is easier to line up 7. Tie rods are 1" diameter 8. Front end can handle my snowplow 9. And last but not least it just looks cooler 😎👍🏿👍🏿
