A Box turtle! So cool! I found one in our yard when I was 6 years old in NJ. I kept him free, but the bully next door found him and put him in a cage in his garage. We launched a secret rescue mission and set him free. (I earlier had to rescue him from another kid who wanted to punt him like a football. Future psychopath.)

Nice videos can you tell me what’s the steps after taking out the paint and bando from the car ?
@JoDaddysGarage3 ай бұрын
It depends on the condition of the metal. Some will have to be cut out and weld in new pieces. Some may be ready to straighten and add epoxy. I have lots of videos covering these questions.

What did you sand the epoxy on the roof with ? 9:36, a solder brush and lacquer thinner gives you a factory look....that's what I did with that product 30 years ago ! Damn, I must be getting old. p.s. I used your tape trick on some sand slick just a few days ago when priming cadillac parts fender extensions, fwiw.
@JoDaddysGarage3 ай бұрын
I used 400 grit.

Hi Barry, When you scuff the epoxy primer , what sand paper did you use on the orbital sander for light sanding before applying high build primer.
@JoDaddysGarage3 ай бұрын
I used 180 grit, but 400 would work.
@JoDaddysGarage3 ай бұрын
Correction. I did use 400.

Barry, I very much enjoy your videos and especially the subject matter, as I too am restoring my 69 Mustang Mach 1. In fact, I am right there where you are now on Slither. I hope you carry this project through all the way to completion! Anyway, I'm blown away that you sprayed that 2K high build with a 1.4 tip. Can you confirm that? Also, I'm a bit curious about sanding the epoxy prior to the high build. Can I ask how much time passed between spraying the epoxy and then the high build? Could you have sprayed the high build directly over the epoxy after a couple of days without sanding? Lastly, I watched you work on those sail panels with those Durablocks, which I also attempted but abandoned as they were just too stiff to pick up the contour. I know your skills are better than mine, but my work in that area and others was made some much easier with a more flexible block. Might I recommend Black Diamond sanding blocks! Thanks Barry!!!

Thanks. As per the data sheet, it calls for a 1.3-1.6 tip. As far as sanding, I was just trying to remove some of the texture from overspray. Typically you have a 4 day window to top coat without doing anything. The trick to sanding is letting your wrists move with the body lines, and knowing when to stop.
