Excellent lesson! Thank you very much for creating this video. I was wondering if you have a video that covers the ideal radio call for planning a flight that crosses a MATZ, for example. I’m curious about the possible variations of how such a radio call might proceed and what I would be expected to say.

James I've got to say fella I laughed alot watching your videos. It's nice to see another (and bare with me here) normal nutcase enjoy flying and still have a sense of humour. Great information in all the videos and the plog is very helpful. I must say if you want a laugh you should watch my first solo flight hahhahaa it wasn't alowed on the club website due to the snot balls and swearing. Many thanks again and be safe. Sam.

James, your videos have been extremely helpful. Thank you. I'm at 44 hours and hoping to get cross country done when weather improves. Did you make the plog sheet yourself? Looks great. Wind card really useful by the way. I use the DP-1 diversion plotter which has a windstar built in.

I’m not sure. As far as I’m concerned they should teach both methods. Right now I’m not used to using SD but it’s definitely the way to go (with a wizz wheel and map as backup!)

All you have to do is plug in your aircraft performance in foreflight tap your two fingers from where you are located to your diversion location and it will give you magnetic heading and time and how much fuel it will take

Very nice. Thanks. Can I ask where you got this from because I couldn’t find it being sold anywhere (thanks for providing a copy to download) but just wondering where it originally came from. And also how did you simulate the same wind conditions in SkyDemon so that you could check your figures. Great video

Can I assure you as a PPL examiner and FIC instructor that this is completely ridiculous and unessecarry and the last thing you want to be doing in the air. If you cannot eyeball a diversion, take up golf! It’s also a SKILL TEST not a skills test. Read the the Honourable Company of Air Pilots instructor section on Navigation and find out how to navigate properly.
@TimesWithJames2 ай бұрын
Hi there thanks for your comment! Out of interest where and what do you fly? My flight instructor and examiner were both fine with my method.
