Caroline, Thanks for sharing the cool hike through tunnels in Madeira. I have never been to Madeira maybe one day. Love your channel. Reminds me of hiking through Hezekiah's tunnel in Jerusalem, years ago and my little flashlight stopped working (this was be for cellphones). Somehow I made it through the tunnel. Oh gosh, the idea of a flashlight running out in some of those tunnels - especially the longer ones with the levada channels fills me with dread. I hope you were able to exit Hezekiah's tunnel unscathed! I've not been to Israel before - I'd love to go and to see Jerusalem too. One day! Cheers to you too

I can't get over how green the island is, the valleys look incredible! I see you have the Lavalier microphone out and working - sounds great! I know we discussed them before but I'm still considering adding one to my back pack for those type of shots. Nice to see the reflection of the water on the tunnel walls, I think my favourite part of the hike was going through those tunnels - very mysterious and adventurous. Nice waterfall at the end.

There's one area of the island that's not green in the summer - we did a hike and wild swim there towards the end of our trip, but I understand that in winter and early spring, even that's pretty green too. In a couple of weeks time, I'll share a video from one of the more popular Levada hikes on the island and that one has lots of tunnels and some go on and on, twisting and turning so if you go, I'd highly recommend it - it's called Caldeirao Verde. It too had a waterfall at the end, but substantially taller than this one. I'm afraid I can't quite work out in the video what would have looked like a lav mic, but I'm afraid I didn't get one in the end and have used one I bought as an upgrade for the Isles of Scilly videos. I can tell the difference in the wind... not perfect, but there's an improvement at least!

@@WhenAdventureKnox I'd drawn my conclusion from the Long-ish Tunnel chapter where you were standing over by the entrance but the audio was still good. Looking forward to more hikes and seeing some of those other tunnels!

Last part of my research hike incline is 90 meters . Sao Vicente is municipality along north west coast of island of Madeira. Legend exist name of region developed from incident . Sao Vicente is known for home of some of Cape Verde greatest musicians, writers , thinkers .founded in 1832 by Portuguese sailors . Located Saint Vincent island of Cape Verde in Atlantic Ocean between islands of santo antao and santa luzia of Western African coast. Capital San Salvador. Means of sao saint. There are volcano still be active . Sao Vicente is one of baraven of islands of northern group within Cape Verde archipelago of Atlantic Ocean.longest tunnel in Portugal is mnara tunnel of peninsula, that tunnel connects faial to Santana is largest in country with 3168 meters, tunnel between machico and conical is large double tunnel of Portugal with 2100 meters .thank you for sharing your trips with us showing us such magnificent landscapes beauty of nature. The tiny incline of 90 meters sums up Madeira's Levada walks very well. All of them were so gentle, you couldn't feel the height difference, so not too much effort, but the views you'd get as a reward were always phenomenal! The tunnel you mentioned was the one we drove through in the last video after getting the new car. It really was incredibly long!

As I read in England citizens spent yearly 103 billion pound sterling on cards , flowers, chocolate, other gifts .as always iam gathering main information about places you visited briefly here it’s Levada faja hike on maderia islands takes you through same incredibly bush forest patchs to many amazing water falls . The trail begins quality beside Levada but quickly escalated with number of tunnel passages . Final destination is epic canyon , which hide multiple waterfalls.hike distance totally 8 kilometers is out back trail . Hike done in under two hours, makes you closer to three if you stop for snack or to explore water falls .hike difficulty is trail is very easy with well maintained Levada path through our route difficult is long tunnel, quiet narrow.

Hi Khatoon, I'm well thank you - been very busy of late so trying to catch up. I hope you're well too. It's crazy to think how much money we spend on Valentines day as a nation - something the marketing people *somewhere* did an excellent job with. As it's always my birthday the day before, we don't do much - though this year we were in Sweden and wen to watch an ice hockey game. Is valentines day a big thing in Saudi Arabia?
