I’d recommend a good barrel cleaning with PatchWorm or something similar, no brass brushes. I loosened my barrel band grub screw, pumped it 8 times, snugged down the grub screw, think it helped. Mine loves H&N Terminators, 8 pumps, out to 30 yards, shoots dime groups at 25. I’ll probably upgrade with AA’s 362 RP valve combo this winter. Great video! Glad to see you getting her dialed in!

Outstanding, shooting off hand. Off hand shooting shows if you're a rifleman or just a man with a rifle. Benching is ok for precision testing of sights and ammo but off hand is where the real shooting skills comes in to play. 😁👍👍👍👍👍
@airgunsofalaska4 ай бұрын
I totally agree! I remember in one of Hickok45’s videos he mentioned that and why he shoots the guns the way he does. He talked about shooting from a bench and how if you really, really wanted to know how accurate that particular rifle could be you’d really need to clamp in down in a vice or something similar. I know I’m more accurate and consistent offhand shooting pneumatics over springers or gas ram guns. PCP’s are also much easier to shoot offhand than springers.

@@airgunsofalaska I used to shoot BPCR silhouette off hand, open sights, out to 400 yards. I had two Remington Rolling blocks, one in 30-30 and one in 7mm and sometimes I used my trap door Springfield in 45-70 . Great fun, lots of noise and smoke and the smell of gunpowder. Unfortunately, I had to give it all up because of health reasons and it's back to where I started all those years ago with air guns. except now I'm putting together a small collection of replica pistols, a horribly addictive ( for me) hobby .I was never into pistols at all, but I can't use my rifles where I live because of city codes and restrictions but I can shoot indoors. Range space is only 5 meter, definitely too short for rifle and that's how air pistol shooting started. Hickock has been on my "subs" list for years,, great channel and a real genuine guy. I like the old skool historical pieces he likes to show off. telling you all about them whilst popping targets. 😁

Try JBS match Diablo, they're made in the Czech Republic. I'm using jumbo heavy diablo's 18.13 grains out of my 22 air rifle and it's pretty accurate at thirty yards. It's always a good idea to examine each pallet to make sure there's no damage to the skirt or or to the dome

Man you might try some of the Sig Venom roundnose pellets. They are a quality pellet, close to the quality of RWS or JSB I think. Anyway I don't know how well the Sigs would do in your Crosman, but in my 880 they shoot incredibly tight groups. Or maybe try some RWS R10 Match, I've had great luck with those too.

I just looked for some Sig Venoms on Amazon. I’ve got some Crosman Premier round nose heavy pellets to try out. I was really surprised by how much some pellets cost. The Remingtons in my video were less than $4 for a tin. I just found that I’d ordered them off Amazon in ‘16. Now I can’t find them anywhere in stock in the US. Lots of places in the UK have them but I don’t want to spend that kind of $. I like ordering from Amazon for free shipping. Because I’m in Alaska, most companies screw us over on shipping costs. Maybe I can find an RWS sampler pack?

Are you aware that if you change magnification it changes the point of impact . I think for all 2nd focal plane scopes it changes the POI . Not certain about 1st focal plane , I think it stays same regardless of scope zoom .

I’d never heard of that until very recently when I watched an American Airgunner show and they discussed it. I’d need to watch that episode again as I didn’t understand the phenomenon very well, nor do I remember what did what. I do recall the one guy saying the steps to follow when adjusting the scope.

It's hard to say a pellet is awful aside from being poor quality, it could be the pellet diameter, hard or soft lead, style, weight, and power of air rifle in use, I used to call different pellets garbage but found out over the years every barrel is different and sometimes a poor quality pellet will work remarkably well, especially with a pump gun you can shoot them at different speeds, a pellet might be all over the place at 500fps but at 600fps or 700 be deadly
@airgunsofalaska Жыл бұрын
Very good points. I wouldn’t be surprised to see better results if one was to put in the time and effort to find what they worked well in. But, for me, seems like Crosman Premiers work reasonably well in everything and I more often than not I just want to shoot and not have to test and experiment so many different things.

All the pellets you are using, except for the JSBs, are big box store average to low quality ammo. Never recommended for past 30 yards or so in any airgun. As many have mentioned in the comments you need to order a variety of H&N, JSB and their OEM brands make ammo for like Air Arms and FX. Just far better quality in regards to size and weight consistency which is the main problem with the pellets you are currently trying. My 100th Anniversary 362 likes the JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13 grain. Worse case I will put together a pellet sampler and send you some goodies. Great video and testing examples.

The problem is with me being in Alaska shipping costs for boutique pellets are cost prohibitive. I’ve gone through the process of filling my cart on Pyramid Air over $150 to get free shipping and whatever sales gimmick they had going on with including free pellets when you order X amount and shipping is always around $50+. You go to the small print and Pyramid and everyone else exclude Alaska, Hawaii and US Territories. It pisses me off the Pyramid and others don’t put the pellets in a flat rate box, it’s no different packing a flat rate box as a regular box and they mail out just the same. So I order my pellets from Amazon with free shipping but not the largest selection. The other thing I’ve noticed time and time again is often times these expensive boutique pellets don’t provide greatly improved results or often don’t do ANY better. I’ve now got numerous tins of JSB’s and they’ve not proven to be a wonder pellet. I have a feeling a guns barrel is by far the most important aspect as my German made guns shoot excellent no matter what the pellet. I’m not saying pellets don’t matter but I’ve found a guy could easily spend a small fortune on boutique pellets when he’d be better off buying a different gun that is happy shooting cheap, run of the mill pellets accurately. Thanks for checking out my channel! I’m planning to test the concept above in a future video(s) once my newest gun is finally shipped out and arrives.

@@ilijabosnjak76 I have been noticing that and it’s so unfortunate. We’d be the exact same way and it’d likely have happened if we didn’t have the 2nd Amendment. Even though the US was a former colony of Britain our history and attitudes are very different than the UK or it’s former commonwealth countries. Hopefully we don’t lose our independent nature.
