I love how well it blends in when it's not extended, and still offers sleeping space for two people. That's good if your roadtrip involves staying a few days in a city and you don't want to wake up to a cop. It'd be better if it had the option for two more seats though. Maybe detachable/foldup seats in that big storage area in the beginning. EDIT: checked their website. They recently added a model that seats 5 people. Also the price is so high that you could get a decent conventional camper and a small size regular car instead.

The idea is nice, but in my opinion, there are some not insignificant drawbacks. Remember to carefully clean the outside because otherwise, all the dirt is brought inside the van, right in the cavity where the whole system flows. I give an example. I have the back completely out because I'm still. I am in a camping area under some trees. It starts to rain, and the leaves fall. The retractable rear gets all wet, the leaves stick to the roof, and so does the dirt. I must remember that before closing I have to clean everything. But if this is not possible, why am I still in the heavy pouring rain and have to leave? I find myself carrying the dirt inside the van. Nice idea, but it leaves me with some doubts.

No seat belts is really about the most stupid idea I've seen in a moving vehicle. And it is against the law here, and in a lot of countries. My suggestion would be to rethink it a little, and have to more SAFE seating. If they can come up with something as genius as what they have done so far. They can come up with two more seats. The design just doesn't seem complete yet. And yes, sleeping more people than it can safely and legally carry isn't that bright. But maybe is it something for swingers? Who knows? :-)

£55k for this. Let's say the van is £22k new. Where has the other £33k gone? Even if it's as much as 250 man hours at £20 per hour then that is £5k of labour. £12k of parts makes £17k plus van at an imaginary £22k (won't be that much) makes £39k. Even if VAT had to be added (unsure) that makes £46,800!!

+hoffwell Since you're doing the math, you should look at new RVs / motorhomes in the £55k range. They are made with cheap materials(they will tell you "we use the lightest weight materials we can find"), and after a short time they begin to have leaks in roof and trouble with the doors opening.(This happens with even more expensive RVs, due to the body shifting around the door from travel, so that the door and latch never quite function right any more. One of the design ideas here is that you can park the vehicle in most parking garages, then slide it out and pop-up elsewhere when ready to camp. So... your final bean-counting came up with £46,800? Maybe you should fill a bag with that much money and go offer that to buy one at a dealership. They might just accept your offer. And that my friend is a win-win!
