Mr flints you introduced your own brackets (2*3) which was not in the question. Nothing wrong with pemdas just that I use my own recipe PEMA.

PEMDAS is not always correct, as in 6/2(1+2)= 6/2*3=9 is considered wrong, the answer is 6/(2*3) or 6/(2*1+2*2)= 6/6=1. (The equation as written is poorly written.)

the question is why ? ... why change the order of operations? why not write the sum in the correct order ? it seems as though you maths is made up !!! and has no sense to it?
