I dropped out of nuclear engineering right around the Fukushima disaster, as I saw my career was over before it started. Now that Putin is wielding fossil fuels as a weapon, now everyone wants back into nuclear energy. Friends and relatives doubt I can restart my studies and this is the simplest example I can find of nuclear chemistry that was required for my degree program. Lest I have to explain half-lives to them and why long half lives are good, and short half-lives are bad. It's all so tiresome...
