'뷔' is pronounced as 'bwi' because in Hangul (Korean alphabet) there is no 'V'!

Peter I'm so impressed with you! You read V's name correctly in korean. Since there is no letter V in korean it is written as "Bwi" to replicate the sound. I'm not korean but taught myself how to read it years ago! It's so much fun. I hope you continue learning it, it's very rewarding and will be helpful on your kpop journey. Learning how to read korean was one of the biggest things that helped me learn to sing along with songs! Thanks for the reaction guys 💜💜💜💜 Edit: I wanted to add something! If you wanna continue with learning korean, I recommend the channel TTMIK (Talk To Me In Korean) if you don't already know them. They're very informative and make it easy to learn. I learned Hangul because what I was hearing BTS sing didn’t match up with the “romanized” lyrics and I wanted to pronounce things correctly when I sing along. It’s shockingly easy to learn. (Note: Hangul is the writing system, NOT the Korean language) Peter, if you go watch some earlier BTS where they introduce themselves, you’ll see by the way his mouth moves that V used to pronounce it as ‘bui’. Here’s my favorite Hangul moment: When I sing along to music that’s sung in English, I sort of “see” the words as if they were written on a white board in my mind. When they sing in Korean, my mental white board is blank. Or WAS blank, I should say. The first time I “saw” anything in Korean I was listening to Serendipity and the words 나의 천사 (my angel) flashed in my mind. I legit got tears from that.

About V ‘s name there is no V in korean language so they use “ㅂ” 비음 (bi-eum) which is basically B so V is written as 뷔 pronounced as “bwi”. There is no V sound in Korean. Hope this helps . I am not Korean but I am learning Korean language . And if you’re learning Korean language then watch the Korean consonants and vowels video . It will help you . Zico is also a huge producer as well as doing solo work now, & still in Block B who were already big Kpop idol group here in 2014,

Hey tx for reacting to danger ,. U see why bts was a threat to the established kpop companies ?? Back then , kpop dancers were not as good , bts stood out frm the get go . All the other kpop companies improved their quality of choreo cause of bts . If bts was not as good as they were , they would not have made it cause they came frm a small company .. danger choreo was different to other group choreo back in the day .. nowadays groups put in more effort but bts was ahead of all groups .. all 4th gen groups was created to outdo bts , bts is 3rd gen .. we called it the copy and fail period.. lmfu

I've been wondering why Scott's face is familiar. He looks like the guy in the 'Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood' game poster which is on my wall (not me but my brother got it). I am not sure if you know about the game so you can google it! Bonus points to Peter!!! Nice catch. Yes! There is no "V" in the Korean alphabet. ㅂ is the closest to "V" and is pronounced like a soft "B". ㅟ is pronounced as "we" with a long E sound. So 뷔 (Bwe) is the phonetically closest to V which stands for Victory. Carry on your Korean journey! Props!!!!

You don’t actually have to speak Korean to read or understand the alphabet because it is one of the easiest to learn. Learned it back in high school about 10 years ago because I wanted to be able to read names of groups and members and I’m glad I did. Learning the actual language is a different story because I gave up. 🤣
