That bull switch game seems great. You get to throw at everything and find your range.

I have an interesting one for doubles and bull (made it up, probably it already has a name): you go around the clock for each double and alternate with bulls. Something like 1 dart at D1 - next at the bull - next dart at D2. This is an ideal round. If you hit all three darts, move to D3 - bull - D4 and so on. If you miss the bull with the 2nd or 3rd dart, you stay there until you hit it. If you hit the bull but miss the next double, start the next visit at that double. No points counted; I usually keep track of how much time it takes me to do all doubles.

Rythem is good as long as you have a consistent pre-shot routine and a puase at the end of your drawback. :) try it.

Can I chime in with a practice game? It's not one I come up with, but it's a variation of round the clock doubles. Starting on double 20, then D10, and D5. Gets you used to moving to the doubles you'd be going for if you come inside tops. Then D19, can't be split. So onto D18 - D9, D17 can't split. Then D16, D8, D4, D2, D1. Hopefully you get the idea, the whole board would be as follows; 20, 10, 5 - 19 - 18, 9 - 17 - 16, 8, 4, 2, 1 - 15 - 14, 7 - 13 - 12, 6, 3 - 11 - Bull Cheers for doing what you do Daniel, great channel 👍

Whether professional players train their arm in the gym, are there any exercises for what helps to throw better, or is it all, just in throwing hours
@Straightdarts

Using wrist and fingers strengthening equipment helps. Your arm should be super relaxed. Always flick or push from the wrist instead of throwing with the arm.

Was just wondering if you had any thoughts on players who throw from the side of their head? I throw this way, the dart comes back and is at the side of my head rather than in line with my eye. I have tried to change but to no avail. It is too inconsistent and feels horrible. I do have some success though as I have played some great darts this way. Nothing special but I haven't played for long, a few months now taking it seriously. I am a 60 average from my online darts games and my best leg is 15 darts and have averaged 90 plus in some legs so I am by no means terrible. But I wondered if you think I should continue that way and just practice it and get better that way or try to change it up and knuckle down. I ask this as your advice and others is always to look down the flight. There is never any advice regarding alternative aims. My peripheral vision is quite good so I think it allows me to do it this way. Just need an expert view on it.

It's all to do with eye dominance, you'll see statistical trends. For example, if a player draws to the side of his head (right handed) he is probably going to feel the need to point his elbow to his left, this means alightment on the oche oche is better to the right of the oche. This is common with right eye dominant players like Price, Littler, Searl, Adams, Smith, RVB ect. You always aim with your body first then sight the target with your eyes. You don't need to aim the dart like a gun. Imagine the path you want the dart to fly down, keep the elbow and shoulder down the same line as well, then elbow still and flick it straight down the path. :)

you'll be slower during matches, right? somehow you seem to be compromising your accuracy, or are you still in the adapting towards getting your rhythm?

I'm still adapting. Im playing excellent when I get going, but need to need slowing down between visits.
