What helped me was just balancing the board on the rail by itself, then jumping on the board and sliding until I came off. Then adding the Ollie into it.

Yup, that can really helps you build confidence and getting used to the slide since this is probably gonna be your first slide trick

leaning aspect is important. Moderate speed, and pushing/leaning forward just slightly can help a lot to push you a long, for longer sliding. After you get your low slow slides, you can add speed to attempting longer slides. Even if you don't make it all the way, or slide out, it's great for slide practice how it feels. Practing bailing each time as you learn. Shoulders control bringing it back straight, or to fakie like he says. Find the sweet spot between speed, and leaning forward.

Gonna see if I can apply this to my training tomorrow. Update: It worked! I landed a couple consecutively today after a week or so of practicing. 1:23-1:28 as well as 2:24-2:33 helped the process a lot.

Lipslides on flatbars please! I get this mental block where I either end up smithing or go too far over and lock my front trucks. Yet somehow I have less trouble lipsliding a waxed ledge.

So nice. I'm still scared to approach a rail this height. Just gotta commit I guess? Most of the time, all there is left is confidence in yourself right?. Nice video and clean boardslides

I would like to add put your weight on your toes rather than your heels, and to lean slightly forward with bent knees. That's what works for me.

What about the approach? At an angle or parallel to the rail?
@soogoi80524 жыл бұрын
Leo Johnson id say ride up to up about 45° but i think mainly it’s preference but don’t ride up to it more than 45° i hope this helps bro :)
@daffyduckling6958 Жыл бұрын
Definitely more parallel than angled but not too close to the rail. You don't want to smack the rail with your wheels trying to get on top of it because you'll fall on the rail and it'll hurt really badly.

I loves boardslides but i cant seem to get out of them... i have balance and can slide almost forever but how do i get out of one??? I always. Cant land it beccause i cant move my body when i land to ride away... plzz help

i can treflip and nose grind and do other harder things, but i still can't boardslide in my 9 months of skating, its so scary to me and ive fallen on my back a few times. What should i know in order to do it?
@connorsmith93654 жыл бұрын
maybe these things I tried might help. Just do the end of the rail, and try it on a ledge first. Try adding rails to your deck to get a consistent slide. Number 1, always lean forward vs leaning backward and avoid going super slow, it will be harder to balance going slow.
@Unfriggginbelievable4 жыл бұрын
@@connorsmith9365 ill keep that in mind, trying ledges first seem easier too. thanks man.
