I literally just got the hang of this skill and landed today.. after months of tries!! Exactly as you mentioned, i set my mind to kickflip fast and catch it 90.. but now i can only land around 120 and need to pivot to full 180.. but heck, land is a land..🤙

I've never been good at frontside flips. Im much better at switch and nollie front side flips. When it stops raining, I'll try your foot position. I have to say you really helped me with my hardflips!

Me it's not only frontside flip it's all fs tricks in Switch/nollie were always easier and actually I'm really trash at fs regular tricks never know why 🤷🏽‍♂️

Even a frontside 180 was quite hard to learn , sick when you land one of these . I usally just do backside flips because they feel more natural . Frontside always feels against the grain to me

Forest almo I feel 99% of people’s weakness in this trick is the regular kickflip. If you can’t kickflip at least a foot off the ground, the 90 degree catch seems inconceivable without a really ugly pivot.

Is it weird I do most of this trick in the second half? Like I turn 90 degrees flick my foot but I flick it in the direction I want the board to turn to help complete the turn. That's the way I do them switch and regular and has always worked for me.

Is it weird that I was practicing these today for the first time after having kickflips down, that instead of doing a fs flip I just do a shifty instead? I’ll do the 90 degree kickflip, but instead of finishing the rotation I go back straight to regular.

I could always flip fs flips, but I never committed to them, instead I learned switch fs flips first because it felt more comfortable landing regular. Then I thought about it one day and realized how ridiculous that was and went to the park and landed a few regular fs flips that day 😂

If you point your heels together while in that position guaranteed land almost every time and if you don't turn your body it's called a hardflip

If you can varial kickflip then just flick harder to get the double flip. Along with that pop down harder so you have more hang time for the rotation. If you're having a difficult time with the flip, maybe try learning double kickflips if you don't already have them.
