Here are the exercises you can do 5-7 days a week. Sing along with me or you can also download the exercises using the links in the PDF, "Get My Vocal Type", found in the Description of this video. Join me in a challenge to practice daily for the next 30 days. (I'm doing 90 days!) They will get your voice in shape and help you to start or improve your mixed singing.

Hello Chuck! Hope you are doin fine. Just wanted to ask, how much time in a day, we should dedicate ourself into these exercises?? Are there any exercises which can particularly help to sing on pitch?
@PowerToSing

@@dikshasinghmusic30 minutes daily doing the exercises correctly will have a huge impact on your singing. If you have trouble matching the pitch with your voice, none of these exercises will help. You need to do ear training. Take a look at an app by Erol.

Hi Chuck! Missed your live yesterday. Closing 30 days tomorrow, I think I had only 5 or 6 days that I didn't do the exercise. Is this exercise the best one to continue from now on? I don't mind spending 30 min per day or even more (not every day). Should I start going half a tone higher?

So ...you want me to cut my practice schedule in half?😆. You have been singing for 50 years and it’s encouraging to see that even the pros have to stay sharp. I’m a mediocre singer about 3 years away from people telling me “oh you were born with it” I’ll just smile and think “if you only knew”.🙂

Thank you for this set of exercises Chuck , I spent the best part of the last Twenty years with near on weekly Singing Lessons with Three different Teachers up until about a year ago but no one ever mentioned Vocal exercises, I realised at Sixty Seven that my voice was only going to get weaker as time past that was until I found your daily routine I try to do the exercises at least five times a week and even find a quiet spot for half an hour a day when on Holiday, I’m now eleven months in and my voice has never been stronger,powerful and better supported than it is today it didn’t happen overnight but after about Five months I was able to sing high notes for example when singing Noo or Mum with strength and without going into Falsetto. Yes there are some nights when you don’t feel like doing the exercises but you know if you do the results are so worth it.. Thanks again Chuck.

Q. Should I allow myself to go a bit breathy and or falsetto at the higher notes or attempt to stay connected? Maybe by being dopier?

What are the top key benefits if we follow daily the same 30 minutes and how long it takes to note notice and perfection
@PowerToSing
@PowerToSing 2 жыл бұрын
It's different for everyone. For me it helps me keep my larynx down, build my mix, condition my vocal cords and enable me to sing songs. If you have the vocal type, pulled chest/ high larynx or Mix, it takes minutes to notice a benefit to your voice. For "perfection" it will take the rest of your life.

Hey, I have many problems. I started singing when my voice was already changing due to puberty. I am 15 now my voice is so hoarse and deep that i can go effortlessly to a c2 but going high is impossible. I strain whenever i start singing in the 4th octave (above c4) and it's always uneasy for me to sing. I can't add distortion to my singing. i can't sing in falsetto or head voice. I can't sing in my mix register..and from what i have known i guess i am pretty much singing from throat and cannot open up. I am surely planning to take a vocal lesson but i thought to utilize this quarantine as well. Hope you help

Hello I haven’t found an answer for this question yet and was hoping you could shed some expertise on the matter. During high season for me I could be singing at least two shows a day. (Combined about 4 1/2 hours of actual singing) and that will be 6 days a week for the most part. I do vocal warm ups at every show before starting. But still I wake up every morning with a hoarse voice. That said, i feel like I need to rest my vocals for the next show and feel leery about vocal exercise with a tired voice; and yes sometimes I’m a chest pull singer. So the question is should I do vocal training during high season of singing? Thanks
@PowerToSing
@PowerToSing Жыл бұрын
Yes. The problem is your larynx is coming up, the vowels are spreading a little, and as a result it is straining your voice. The sooner you can learn to keep the larynx down which will help you to begin to mix your chest voice with head voice, the sooner you will stop getting hoarse. This video may be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6OzdGShjraWo80

Naynaynay Chuck! Great exercices, I enjoyed that. Even after shorter practicing I feel more comfortable. Most important I've found a bridge. Moreover, that's very relaxing even if one isn't going to be a professional, just for the love of singing. I have a question. I am 48 and I am singing with power that you're doing however I would love to free my voice and to sing with power of heavy metal singers, singing my favorite Dio songs which is impossible in a flat :) . Do you think that one should do power vocals only directly with coach? Do mean, kinda r'n'r 'shouting' or 'vocal fry' , full chest mixed with head voice (dunno mean growling, snorking,roaring, barking and howling as in boring subgenres of heavy metal). Now I have range enough for metal but I find dangerous to explore something without proper trainings and without presence of coach. Also, if I sing 45 minutes with more power I don't feel any pain, perhaps a biiiiit gritty voice tomorrow and also like a little bit 'inflamatory' on the muscles on the sides of my throat, kinda after gym (can't explain in English) started firstly to follow heavy metal coaches but a lot wasn't clear to me. After I started to follow you and some other coachs I understood point of singing. So, one should learn to bridge and then gradually to switch to power, it's not job for one month :) Thank you very much 🙏👍

I don't teach metal, but I definitely agree it would be best to do it with a coach. Be careful with it. Before you know it, a little bit inflammatory turns into not being able to speak and then it turns into vocal damage.

Hey Chuck 👋🏻 I have been getting very frustrated with my voice lately. I’m a 16 year old male and my chest voice goes from roughly a D2 to G4# but any higher than that it cracks almost instantly ever single time. I don’t have a low falsetto that I can bridge into after that particular break so I’m stuck not being able to sing at all from around the A4- C5 where my disconnected falsetto finally kicks in. Anyway I sing primarily pop and so many of those songs have notes from that G4 to above the A4 range that is just very uncomfortable for me but I want to be able to hit them without damaging my voice in any way. I’ve heard a lot about head voice but have never really been able to access anything like that as far as I know so I was just wondering what your thoughts. I’d really appreciate it thanks!

Yes...if you do the exercises an octave higher...but you will have to drop out as they go higher. This video really is best for male voices. But get your vocal cords checked as mentioned on my other message to you first. Very important.

Is there a certain word or movement I need to be doing to make my tongue trill sound like yours?
@PowerToSing
@PowerToSing Жыл бұрын
Not really. It's important that the tongue is relaxed. You are saying "uh" with the trill. Some singers use the tongue to help them make the pitch...which if they do it will stop the trill completely. Only the vocal cords are the pitch makers. The trill is really created by the air flow over the tongue. In slow motion it sounds like tuh duh repeated rapidly.

Hi Mike! Yes and no. Not immediately during the time of this video. However, as of today, since May of 2020 I have been in several music theatre productions including, a parking lot concert (covid safe) where I sang How to Handle a Woman, from Camelot, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Cinderella, The Fantastics playing El Gallo, where I learned the songs, Try to Remember, Depends on What You Pay, I Can See It, and Round and Round, and I'm currently playing Daddy Murphy in Bright Star where I sing Firmer Hand. These solos and a bunch of ensemble numbers...and I've learned a few songs...the result is I've had a blast being back on stage singing and acting post covid.:)

Yes.. sir....Tq🙏 What is toungue trill and how to do that
@PowerToSing
@PowerToSing Жыл бұрын
@@vanikumari6006 The tongue trill is lip the lip bubble or lip trill, except it is the tongue that is fluttering. It is caused by the air passing over the top of the tongue. It is used to help keep the larynx down and balance the air flow with the vocal cords. Sometimes it's called rolling your "R"'s. Spanish speakers regularly roll their "r" in everyday speech. In slow motion it sounds like "T-duh" repeated rapidly with the assistance of the air moving over the tongue. It's possible to learn it, but it's easier if you've been able to roll your tongue even as a youth. Until you do learn it, bubble lips is a good substitution.
