The Jewish quarter is great but unfortunately, there are not a lot of kosher restaurants in the old city. And the few that are there are crazy expensive, even for Prague. :(

Just thinking about Dr. Lotta Hitchmanova (Hitchmann) today. She grew up in Prague in a middle class family. When Germany took Sudenland she moved to Belgium, then southern France, on to New York and finally Canada. In 1942 she led the Unitarian Service Committee in Canada and spent the rest of her life doing humanitarian work. Her parents died at Auschwitz camp. She had a sister who went to Israel and later joined her in Canada. What terrible times!

Love the Jewish quarter but also miss kosher restaurants in the old city that don't cost a fortune! Thank's for this nice clip. Mazel Tov.

Fascinating history. I would've thought that the Jewish population had been annihilated during WWII.

A museum to the end of the Jewish race is now a memorial to their survival. I hope they buy up old town and feel welcome.
