Seems like a good idea until you have a guy turn the machine into a tree after the cut and bend the arm or the saw. Definitely a neat idea though and looks pretty fast!

That's awesome, thanks for the share.

Is that 2" square tubing boom strong enough to prevent bending and damage?
@billbrasky89702 жыл бұрын
I’d assume you only want the saw doing the “work” not the arm. Looks a little precarious

How would you replace the cutting chain on it if necessary if the saw is several feet up in the air?

Really? Maybe you need to get a ladder!

Its all well and good untill you look at the damage done. Ive worked in arbour culture for more than tens years and get calls all the time to clean up all the bark stripping and address all the improper cuts. (Bad cuts cause faster growth from weaker points, it just increases future work)

Though your comments are correct I doubt tree guys are going to be buying this tool when they have bucket trucks with hydraulic saws. This looks more for the farmer that wants to limb back the trees on his roads or the snowmobile club that wants to keep the trails clear. I don't think you're going to be using this for trimming up the trees in a cul-de-sac

Flimsy looking imo. A rough operator would destroy this pretty quick I think. Just my thoughts but cool.

Pretty useless for horizontal topping of branches or tree tops. Can't cut from the underside so you are guaranteed to leave a nasty tear-out on larger limbs. Not convincing me that it cuts faster than a typical gas chainsaw which runs 3x faster. I'll give it a 4 out of 10.

95% of them that have actually sold are sitting on a shelf collecting dust. It's an okay idea but in use it's a pointless waste of time

Dave Wigger if the tree is on a hill, you can come in from one side or the other to get your angle. Owen Major gave the real answer.

@@TheOwenMajor farms only cut branches? Or farmers only like to sit in machines for work? What are you trying to say
@TheOwenMajor4 жыл бұрын
@@Voice4orNoise This tool is for removing branches. Period. If you need to cut at an angle than this tool is not for you. A hammer is not useless because it cannot screw in a screw. There are many tools in agriculture that serve a very specific purpose. They are bought by farmers who believe the tool is right for them.
