I am so glad you posted this! I absolutely agree that God could have built things by any method. Indeed, the idea of construction of the universe via the Big Bang fascinates me. If he constructed the universe in this fashion, it would require no intervention at any point after construction because he already knew the final outcomes, and could simply place all answers to prayers, miracles, etc. in the original construction of the universe.
