I just got my new Blackstone about a month ago and I love it. I keep seeing the silicone mats to cover the griddle. I live in Altoona Pennsylvania and unfortunately the griddle will be out during the winter months. I was wondering what your take is on the silicone mats and if you think it would be a good purchase for the winter months? Truly enjoy all you videos, but you make cooking in the Blackstone look super simple, definitely not simple at least at first! Lol

Altoona. I've certainly been there before!!! I was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Erie. My family originated from the Punxsutawney area and I went to college in Indiana, PA (IUP) back in the day. In 1991/1992 I had a college neighbor from Altoona that told me he drove a fork lift at Delgrosso's before going back to college. Too funny! Cooking on the Blackstone couldn't be any more easy. I appreciate the compliment and am thankful you watch! The mat is entirely up to you. Blackstone doesn't make them. We think they are sort of useless. The guys who make them have the buyers convinced you can't have a clean griddle without one. Hilarious. Not true. I certainly wouldn't tell you not to buy one. You are free to do so!!! If you aren't going to cook on your griddle in the winter, you'll need to protect it and that silicone mat won't provide the protection you'll need. If you aren't going to cook on it AND you absolutely have to keep it outside you'll want to wrap it up in a tarp or something. I highly suggest buying a Blackstone vinyl cover for your griddle at the very least. Blackstone makes lots of griddles and I don't know which model you have. If you do not have a hood or a hard cover, you 100% need to protect your griddle plate but that silicone mat will not keep moisture out. You'd want to completely cover the top with a sheet of plyood and plastic sheeting or something. I appreciate you watching!! Todd

That’s what I thought at first but it is legitimate. It actually has the complete commercial manual inside. It appears to be 100% authentic. Pretty crazy. It was free stuff so it was fun to do! Temu has some good stuff for cheap. The quality is surprisingly decent. But the knives suck. Any knife with an actual name brand is a clone and not a very good one at that. The "Damascus" steel knives are cheap and not really Damascus steel. For decoration only.
