My friend was reared in Chicago ( her mother actually sang in the choir that Mahalia Jackson directed before her recording days. I was touched by Mahalias voice when i was 4 and 5yrs old. She pierced my soul and shook me @ a very young age. My mom would walk around the house playing her music and sing to the entire house i loved it. My mama go emotional singing Mahalia and she would her soul into the words... I grew up loving old spiritual gospel. But i wish i had adapted her great sound myself... Jesus has blessed us with Joshua so we can continue to be moved by her greatness
