The song mainly sang for rain. About 30-40 years ago Bangladeshi village people’s praying for rain. It's quite cultural praying for rain. Still now Bangladeshi some district do this act. When we suffering from water mainly Summer season. That time Bangladeshi young and old, father and mother, grandpa & ma.was Praying for rain... They using mud with their body. So this song contribute for rain. & Yes.... Prarthona means "Prayer" & It's a Bangla language. Little bit similar to Hindi.

Here is the original song by Ustad Abbasuddin kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZprKhKyrg9xrbJo The great master Abbas uddin was the guru of S D Barman. Basically it's a folk song. Momotaz begom, the lady singer, is a member of parliament (MP) and famous for her folk songs. And Mizan bhai is nothing but already a legend with his voice. What he did or does with or without Warfaze is amazing.

You are ignorant to quite a few things, it seems. First of all, it's not Bongoli but Bengali. Secondly, Prarthona can mean prayer, an appeal, or a request in both Hindi AND Bengali. The difference with Hindi is in the spelling, therefore, the pronunciation. Thirdly, your mindset is strictly shaped by religious differences, so you fail to realize that "baba" does not only refer to Hindu sadhus but also to esteemed, elderly men. Therefore, there is no issue in putting "baba" and "maulana" together. Next time, try to time your laughs and smirk better. Cheers.

Pls think twice before calling someone ignorant...I have heard them and found no offensive issues..they look n sound absolutely nice... Now let us address ur misunderstanding( I wouldnt call it IGNORANCE) about subtext of this song...In first part Momtaz implored directly to Allah with a classical folk tone requesting rain and in the second part Mizan complained to the "Noorer Putula Baba Mawlana"(The Doll Of Light) about the suffering of life due to drought with sufi qawali touch behind it....!! I dont know why Mizan called adoring someone "Noorer Putula Baba Mawlana" and who he really is!!! Do u know the answer??
