Good defenses keep clean sheets... Difficulty of fixture is not a great predictor for defensive returns. I'm a fixture guy too, but no Arsenal defense is a miscalculation

Clean sheet odds vary a lot depending on fixture difficulty. But I am with you - Ars can do well regardless. Can’t have them all really - I am happier with TAA + Salah.

@@Pras_fpl Arsenal kept 2 clean sheets vs Man City and zero clean sheets vs N'forest last season. Bookie odds are reflective of fixture difficulty, but actual clean sheets are not

FDR is kinda flawed model when it comes to cleansheets (defenders and goalkeeper returns). Fixture Difficulty Rating model FDR only works with skewed data in our case 1. when there is a match up between top 6 versus bottom 6 2.Mid 6 versus bottom 6 it kinda starts failing 3.Bottom 6 versus Bottom 6 it will fail miserably 4.Top 6 versus middle 6 it kinda works. FDR is a flawed model to predict GK cleansheets and Defender Cleansheets.

​@@Tiffer1989The upside of FDR is that it is a model built on xG and xAttacking Returns so data of wingbacks, wingers and forwards are used to build FDR. Data of CMs, CDMs and CBs are not taken into account that's why bookies get it absolutely bang on certain days and go horribly wrong on some days. When bookies think Centre Backs are game changers but wingbacks outperform in a particular day and vice-versa.

Thanks Pras. How and when would you move from Salah+Haaland draft to Haaland only? To make -4 before Jota and Haavertz go up in price or to wait after GW2? I am afraid I will be priced out of Jota and Haavertz. I really want to have both of them. Thanks.

I’d def keep Haaland this week and Salah until GW5. So anytime from next week you could get a better mid + attacker (hopefully for free and not a -4).

Why can't FPL build a more reliable FDR model ? What's stopping them. I know it takes the fun away but would help FPL managers take correct decisions.

Some models have projected points - that’s essentially an FRd built into player underlying data.

@@Pras_fpl That's partiallly true Pras and largely wrong is my observation. But even underlying data for players like xG, xA do fail when the the matches are between 1. Top 6 versus Top 6 2. Mid table versus Mid table 3. Bottom half versus bottom half. Of course one can negate top 2 teams and relegation zone teams and also it becomes impossible to develop an FDR (fixture ticker) for CB clean sheets and GK clean sheets.
