Season 1 and season 2 are the drop. Season 3 is the ocean. Heavy spoiler alert.I repeat heavy spoiler alert..❌❌ Here's a few bits and pieces I noticed after the first watch that are not always explicitly told or shown in the final season, with a few thoughts here and there on certain matters: ♦The H.G in Tannhaus' name refers to Heinrich and Gustav, his great-grandfather and his grandfather, respectively ♦Helge's father is Anatol Veliev (as listed on Dark's official website). He's irrelevant to the storyline so his name is not mentioned and he's never shown. Greta is most likely a war rape victim. ♦Peter's mother is Ulla Schmidt (as listed on Dark's official website). She's irrelevant to the storyline so her name is not mentioned and she's never shown. Bernd is Regina's father. We know this from the very last scene when everyone is having dinner in the original world and a picture of Claudia, Bernd, and Regina is on the wall. It's also listed on the website. Helene Wolf/Albers and Hermann Albers are the mother and father of Katharina as we all knew before, but it is now confirmed. ♦There's a very dominant theme of people wanting to save their children throughout the show; Tannhaus, Claudia, Eva/Martha, Ulrich and Katharina, Noah dedicated his life to try to bring his child Charlotte back to Elisabeth, and Michael killed himself so that Jonas can live. ♦Equally ironic to the previous point that many children kill their parents and vice versa (Noah killing Bartosz, Helene killing Katharina, Claudia killing Egon, and Jonas killing Hannah) ♦Tannhaus invented time travel, created two worlds, saved his whole family, and destroyed two worlds, but he'll never know he did it. ♦Magnus and Fran gave birth to no one even though they fucked the most. Nice! ♦Boris/Alexander has nothing to do with time travel as opposed to what most of us thought. ♦Hannah was pregnant in 3 worlds even at her age The Jonas that Hannah would give birth to in the original world will never be the same Jonas we know. ♦I loved that time wouldn't allow Jonas to die. He could literally be thrown into deep water or outer space, and someone will save him. If not, he'll literally breathe one way or another. He's invincible as long as he's seen his future self. He uses this to his advantage and tries manually building the god particle machine because he knows it can never kill him. ♦The reason why young Peter looks very similar to Peter is because they're son and father in real life There are different camera ratios for each world. Brilliant choice. ♦Bartosz and Jonas fighting the rain again, and Jonas bleeding from his lip again ♦The Stranger never saw alt-Martha save him because he hid in the basement of the Kahnwald house, and that's why he didn't remember that moment when alt-Martha mentioned it. It also explains why he said "Martha, you're alive", when alt-Martha showed up in September 1888 as he never saw an alt-Martha after Adam killed Martha. The Jonas in the flipped reality (that was created due to the Schrodinger's cat) was saved by alt-Martha, but he ended up being killed by her. In ep 2 or 3 (can't remember. Will check later and update) when Claudia is walking up to Regina to give her meds, the radio was saying that scientists concluded that the world actually stopped for a fraction of a second when the apocalypse happened (foreshadowing Claudia's use of Schrodinger's cat to break the reality into two possibilities). ♦If you stop watching after ep 7 and don't watch ep 8, then you get the infinite loop ending of the show. And you can go back to watching season 1 all over again and think that the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning. ♦In either realities (dead cat, alive cat), Jonas is never truly happy. This hits hard. ♦Katharina's mother aborted her first child with the help of her mother (Katharina's grandmother who seemed to be a bit verbally abusive to her). In the scene where she is hitting Katharina for having a hickey on her neck she says I should have made you go away TOO. It's unclear how many abortions she got actually. ♦Here's a chronological order of how the Saint Christopherus necklace moved around: Egon (gift to Hannah) > Hannah (gift from Egon) > Helena (left from Hannah) > Martha (found by the lake) > then it keeps altering between Martha and Jonas, but I'll do a more thorough study on this with dates because the necklace jumped around alot ♦Regina is cancer free in the original world because there's no nuclear plant. And there's no nuclear plant because the cleft trio never forced the signature to have it built. ♦Both Jonas and alt-Martha asked their mothers if they believe in do you believe in fate/destiny, and many other conversations were mirrored one way or another pretty much the exact same way (e.g. the long bakery line because "the apocalypse is upon us") ♦Even though we saw the show ends with the cycle breaking, there's still the flip reality where everything was repeated and will keep repeating until the loop breaks once and for all and both worlds with all their flipped realities vanish for good across all timelines and across all spaces with only the original world remaining. ♥Favourite character: everyone, but Claudia will have a special place in my heart for outsmarting everyone and figuring a way out of the loop ♦Overall, I'm in awe. It's much better than anything I had ever hoped for. I feel so grateful for anyone involved in the show for creating such a rich and unique story and sharing it with the whole world. I'll add things here if remember or think of anything else

@@shreyadeshmukh7197 Jonas and Martha's son was never the origin.Eva managed Adam to believe that so that way Adam shall always remain in a dellusion of ending the loop by killing his son but end up killing Eva instead so Martha can see her body and turn against Jonas and cycle goes on, that way her son will live but what they wanted to convey was, Jonas and Martha's son shouldn't exist in an ideal world because then he will be a product of 2 different worlds which wouldn't be feasible. or atleast that's what i understood

To answer the question, The lives of people in Winden was barely livable! We see Jonas and Martha constantly crying to end this entire time loop from the beginning! (Martha from starting of Season 3). The only person that wanted the loop to continue was Eva (Who was Martha at some point). Jonas's Character has not been the same since Mikkel's Death. We see Hannah die from hands of Jonas, so Hanna's opinion does not really matter. Bartoz was the who also was ready to give up his life to end the loop as he saw his father was a criminal, his mother died of cancer, he was used by Noah (Who was his son in the first place), His wife (who was sister of Adam) also died!!!!!! so Bartoz had no problem to give up his life for the cause. Noah and His sister Agnes both were children of Bartoz. Noah was killed by Agnes in Season 2 so his opinion does not really matter but Agnes grew up with Adam. The principles of Adam might have influenced her. The other charater is Kathrina, who was murdered by her Mother so her opinion does not matter as well. Ulrich was trapped in past for over 50 years. He wasnt even living there! He saw mikkel and tried to run with him, but was stopped by Egon, so he would have no problem in giving up his life. Charlotte was the character who has most weird relationship with herself! Her daughter was her mother! And also she is one of those who would still remain Alive after the sacrifice. Same goes for Kathrina (In Eva's World) Egon died, so no questions there, Claudia was the main person who initiated the possibility to end the loop. So no questions there as well. Charlotte's Husband was murdered, so no questions there as well, and finally there are 3 people who might not have wanted to Ent the loop. Elizabeth, who also could end her life for her daughter, The two characters remain, Martha's Brother Magnus and ELizabeth's Sister Franziska Their sacrifice was shown loosely, where they say "We would die together in Apocalypse". These two might have been the loose ends, but still! Thannaus(in duplicate worlds) had no idea about the sacrifice! So its like he was cheated upon (Not actually tho as he as the cause of the creation of these worlds) so no worries there too! Also, the show's motto is not that someone will make a time machine or not! Its that YOU CANT CHANGE THE PAST! YOU CANT BRING SOMEONE BACK FROM DEAD! You will have sadness in original world as well! That is true, but it wont be as complicated as this one! Adam, Eva, Claudia probably knew who would still live there! The ones who were not entangled with the time travel or the time loop (Ones who we see at the end of series) Each character gives up their life so that others can live. The show has been brought up Very tightly! ;)

@@amanburnwal1610 1. This is very simple. The step which Adam takes, always triggered the loop. If he didn't send silja then it also triggered to continue the loop but in another way. 2. If he didn't sent Magnus and Franziska then Jonas died in his world. Then knot may be released but his world would be destroyed and Eve's world would be safe which he didn't want. 3. Jonas and Martha save only one time Tanhauss son because after this the loop would be discontinued then this accident never happened again. So there are not required to save Tanhauss son again.

Spoiler ( An interesting speculation) - Marek- Of Mars, Martha - Dedicated to Mars(in Roman) Jonas is an anagram of Sonja. Martha and Jonas are mirror versions(depictions) of Marek and Sonja in the origin world. Martha and Jonas' son is assumed to be the origin of the knot in the earlier episodes. Charlotte, who is the daughter of Marek and Sonja is the reason for the time machine to be invented. Coincidence? I think not. This show is a goldmine of philosophies and metaphors. It's truly THE GREATEST SHOW EVER MADE.

Yet most of us can't get it, cuz our brains function by duality. We can't even imagine the amount of intelligence needed to come up with all these theories and execute them so perfectly. The episodes were long and sometimes boring(to some people) because they had to show everything to fill up the gaps. This show clearly is not just for 'Entertainment' it's a long and beautiful Brain Teaser. That's why it is the GREATEST SHOW EVER MADE and it's a fact.

First 5 episodes were very much important because Eve's world was a part of the paradox and no one can accept the events on the new universe suddenly. Also it describes the concept of quantum entanglement. ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION PRATIK SIR : Even though the characters might not realize that they are in a continuous loop, the characters have certain feelings of the pain and emotions inside them with every loop they overcome just like how Hannah at the end of the season remembers the other worlds. So, anybody would do anything to get out of the continuous pain. This might just be the answer to your question.

Adam thought there were two universes, His and Martha's So to end this whole cycle of pain and suffering he tempts others like Noah and other members of "Sic Mundus" with his paradise. But in reality, in his mind, adam wanted to destroy both these universes and so there was no more suffering and pain he experienced, whereas Martha (eve) wanted to keep the cycle going on so that her child can survive. Once both his and Martha's universe gets destroyed there would be "nothingness", no happiness and no sadness and pain, and that's exactly Adam meant by "Paradise". But Claudia told him in the last episode, that he and Martha(Eve) are the real reason behind this endless time loop, created by Tanhausse Time Machine in the Origin Universe. Not all characters died. All people who were part of Origin Universe lived, but people who were ONLY the part of Adam and Martha's universe vanished eventually. But No one noticed in the origin universe because Time Machine was never created in the first place.

Sir, I think the ending is itself a pradox: If they saw each other's older version when they were child doesn't that means the ending of loop was inevitable? And if their older self succeded in destroying the loop then how come those child version still grows up and then do the same thing? I think it is also a part of the loop and it's somewhat like schrodinger's cat experiment the loop exist as well as doesn't. All 3 world exists and doesn't exist and are connected in a never ending cycle.

Although the series based on mind blowing gigantic scientific concept of sc-fi & time travel, it beautifully managed all the characters & it's emotions in such a magical way that i totally fell in love with the series. There can be made a film on Jonas & Martha's love story. 😁😊 My journey with the dark from it's beginning of 1st episode to 26th episode will always be a special place in my heart. But, In the starting of season 3 upto episode 4; i was uninterested with the character development of new world..Yet it was necessary to buildup characters of new world. But after that i was totally invested with the series. The ending scene when everyone disappeared was heartbreaking. I was so much emotional in the end.. And that shows how great this series is!!👌👌 I really appreciate the way Director Baran bo Odar Managed all the characters, events, scenarios is a masterpiece Act. Also i can't stop myself to praise it's screenplay. They masterfully crafted the confusing story in such a engaging way that we never loose our eyes on the screen. Also the Soundtrack & Music Montages are my favourite part in this series.. Also i was literally heartbroken at the scene when Old Ulrich at hospital looking the sky thinking that Katharina will come and get him out of that place unknown by the fact that she is dead.. 😓😭 P.S :- I recommend everyone to watch this series.. It's the GOAT series ever made on time-traveling concept.. 🙏😍🙏

Hello Pratik, I have a different understanding of the last part when you said in your review that all characters decided to sacrifice their lives for want of a "Paradise". Paradise in this situation is the "Original" world where Thanos's family survive. Worlds created because of Thanos experiments was an endless loop and all the characters were there "accidentally" not "willingly". So when finally when everything came to an end, all the characters happily accepted their fate that they are now out of the loop. They will cease to exist.

1,2 - According to the show's concept, you can't change what has already happened. Someone cannot be erased if it's older self already exists(at least in one of the worlds). This was confirmed by hanno when Jonas tried to commit suicide but time didn't permit it. Hence Adam and Martha's son was destined to be born and everything Martha and Jonas did was for it to be born. It was assumed to be the origin by Adam and hence he wanted it to be born and killed 3. There is no second time as no cycle exists now. The origin world goes on without any knot. 'time machine' was an anomaly in that world which was prevented by other anomalies'martha and jonas'. A system created by universe to preserve balance making it uncorrupted. 4. Not sure! 5. These were just connected visions. Don't know why they pulled this Interstellar like scene in there. Yes it was wise to end their life because they were caught in an endless loop. Just think for a minute living the whole like jonas travelling world and time and doing deeds like killing same person watching same person die again and again. No one would want it. The loop has to be broken. No one deserves to live like this. Whenever they start the loop again they have to live the whole process again multiplying the suffering which one has endlessly suffered. I think makers were brilliant enough to not continue the loops and make these world as a bifurcation of the origin world. This way loop never got created and time once again became linear instead of curling around the same moments.

In the final scene of season 3 episode 8 when Martha, Katherina, and Regina were having dinner together you should have noticed that Both Regina & Katherina are single, since Adam & Eve has decided to end the circle there is no family tree can initiate and thus there is no space for Ulrich and so for Jonas and so for Bartosz. So in the end, only those characters are living in the origin world whose parents have nothing to do with Time travel.

I think the ending has tried to talk about "moksha" or "nirvana"....and the annihilation of characters represents samadhi where there is no self...and that state of samadhi might be conceptualised as "paradise"
